Charming home is on Upper Island Lake which has great northern and pan fishing, within 35 miles of Duluth and 20 minutes from Black Bear Casino and golf course. The house has everything you would need for a stress free vacation, full kitchen, laundry, and bath. You can enjoy the lake off your own private dock with row boat. If you are more of a winter enthusiast we offer a four hole fish house with heater and power auger. With the snowmobile trail just outside the front door and Spirit mountain a quick drive away make this a great spot for a winter get away.

Nearest Airport: Duluth at 35 Miles
Nearest Motorway: Hwy 210 at 2 Miles
Car: necessary
Only 35 minutes from the Duluth area where you can find lake superior boat tours the aquarium exhibit, fine dining, and omni max. Watch the harbor ships come in and out of port. Or travel to Carlton which is a 20 minute drive there you can find golfing and gambling at the Black Bear Casino and white water rapid rafting out of cloquet.

Notes: We have children of our own and have at the cabin several kids books, videos and games. There is a dog kennel in the house and will consider pets. We do ask however that there is no smoking indoors.

Fishing on Upper Island Lake: You can do very well trolling the shore lines of the lake, use spoons or rapala's to get the northerns. Drop an anchor and spend hours catching nice sized sunnies and crappies, use a basic hook and night crawlers.

Town of Cromwell: If you don't feel like heading to the north shore, Cromwell has groceries, movies, bait shop and city park with playground walking distance from the home.

North Shore: The North shore has alot to offer, you would be within 45 minutes too some of the North shores biggest attractions. Travel past Duluth to visit the light house, goosberry falls and more.

Our family with 3 children (7, 9, 11) had a great time at this lake house. It is very close to town so it is convenient to get supplies. The lake was excellent for fishing (panfish, northern, and a big dogfish - just for fun). An excellent fire pit (low on wood though). A large lot which was great for family bocce and frisbee. Cabin was not well stocked with utensils but we managed. There is no internet on site, but we managed to use the neighbors which was very helpful. It was an excellent experience for the family.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
