A great place to stay

We have stayed on Oahu over 15 times and this one was the best place for the money. It is perfectly located next to the park and zoo. It is a clean and remodeled room with enough space for the 2 of us. This room has a small cooktop and microwave so preparing dinner and eating on the balcony was perfect for the times you wanted to eat in. When I go back again I will definitly be calling Steve High to see if this room is available again.

Unit 614 was everything one could ask for.
The view of Diamond Head and the ocean from the lanai was spectacular. Everything was accessible food-wise - no need for a car.
The unit was clean, modern, with linens, towels , beach chairs etc. The sun deck on the roof was awesome. Security of the premises and lobby was also very good 24/7

Million-dollar view for a song!

Why anyone would stay in a more expensive hotel when this place offers a million-dollar view is beyond me! The unit I stayed in is located next to the elevators but I never heard a peep - I was too busy sitting on the lanai gaping at the ocean view and occasionally turning to my left to gaze at Diamond Head to the accompanying sounds of the exotic birds at the Honolulu Zoo across the street. The studio itself is a cozy studio on Kapahulu overlooking Kapiolani Park (Note: this *is* where the action is, with a gay bar on the 3rd floor. The garbage pickup every morning can be annoying - pull the pillow over your head. It's over soon.) The kitchen has basic cooking facilities consisting of a microwave, two-burner hotplate, toaster, and coffeemaker plus a minifridge. Drawbacks: no kitchen sink, freezer compartment is very limited. Bathroom was nice and roomy with a square tub. This is no luxury unit but was comfortable and clean and oh-so-convenient; the view made it worth everything. It was late April and I turned the AC on only once. I lived in Honolulu many years ago, and this sweet spot is primo tourist location with all the perks. An ABC Store just outside the open-air lobby has most anything you want. Grab a bottle of wine or beer and some snacks, then turn the TV to the local guide channel, close the cabinet doors, and enjoy real Hawaiian music while you bask in that million-dollar view!

Spectacular Views

I didn't expect to be right in the middle of the weekend action, but it was great. The bands, movies on the beach and everything was right at the end of the block. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is not it. The views were great (other than lots of rain - not their fault). Parking is a little bit of a walk (2 1/2 blocks), but traffic flow is great and it is easy to get in and out of Waikiki from here. You get to see all the locals with their surfboards coming in on the weekends and early mornings. We had a great time. PS. There is a restaurant downstairs.

We did have a little bit of lag in communication, but everything was perfect when we got their and worked out great.
