Just 3 miles outside of Blowing Rock, you will find a mountainside cabin. A 2 bedroom, 1 bath log cabin with beautiful views from the deck, and much more. Relax on the porch and watch the birds while you soak up the solitude on this 5 acre tract of wooded forest, or take a hike on the trails and investigate the mountains and nearby streams. You will be sure to enjoy the log cabin feel, while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. You will be pleasantly surprised at the abundance of activities throughout the year. Located just minutes away, you will find Blowing Rock, which offers some of the finest dining, unique shops, and beautiful parks with tennis courts, playground, and riding stables. Located outside of Blowing Rock on your way to Boone, is the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. With its many overlooks, picnic areas, and hiking trails, it is a popular way to spend your day. Boone enjoys many year round cultural events sponsored by Appalachian State University. Take State Road 105 out.

Family Reunions & Friends Wanting to Stay Close By: This property is located on approximately 5 acres. it adjoins our other 2/2 cabin with loft and game room situated on 22 acres. Great for friends and family who want to be close, as these properties are only about 1/8 of a mile away from each other and are within walking distance, but desire separate living quarters. They are the only cabins on this road. Continue down the drive and you will eventually enter woods with streams that wind alongside the road

My wife and I spent a month at the "Mountainside Cabin" near Blowing Rock, NC, and had a fantastic time. The cabin was excellent for our needs, clean, modern yet rustic, functional Internet and satellite TV. Beth and Bob are tremendous hosts. The cabin is off the beaten path with excellent hiking and birding right outside the door. Of course, Blowing Rock is a groomed-to-zoom town with many amenities. The Blue Ridge Parkway is minutes away. We cannot recommend the cabin more highly; we look forward to returning as soon as possible. Very good value; good facilities; nice deck; great grill. Outstanding all around!

We recently stayed for 3 nights at Mountainside cabin. It was perfect for our needs. Just as described in the listing, and decorated very nicely. It has all the amenities you could need, including high-speed internet access and satellite TV with a DVD library. The cabin was clean and in a great location--just a few minutes drive from town. There are so many restaurants in Blowing Rock we had a hard time deciding where to eat. And the shops in town are great. We drove along the BRP and were very close to Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain. One of the best parts of the trip was the "down time" we spent on the deck enjoying the view. And we're so glad it's pet-friendly so our Casey could accompany us. Overall a great cabin at a great price and we can't wait to go back!

A real 'gem' in a terrific setting

Our five day stay at the Mountainside Cabin was one of the most enjoyable of our trip through the Smokies/Blue Ridge. We booked online and were pleased to find that everything was as nice as it looked there! The location was excellent and the property was very clean and well-maintained. Everything we needed was available. The beds were excellent and the washer/drier was a real plus.
The owners were extremely pleasant and made every effort to insure that our stay was a good one. We especially liked the way they made themselves available without imposing upon us.
We had a whole list of things we wanted to see and do around Blowing Rock. We did most of them, but found that the thing we liked best was just sitting out on the deck and watching the birds, deer, butterflies, and rabbits. What a treat to be in quiet surroundings with views of the mountains all around! We would certainly recommend this property to anyone who would like the unique experience of being away from the conventional motel/hotel accommodation, while enjoying every convenience.
