Recently decorated with modern, but Hawaiian style furnishings, this comfortable hale will make you feel like you stepped back in time. It has a relaxed atmosphere with all of the amenities of home. And there's a distant view of the ocean from the front rooms. The 3 large bedrooms are furnished with hotel resort queen beds, soft high thread count linens and Hawaiian patterned quilts. The bathroom offers a tub and a separate shower with a make up table and mirror. The kitchen has oak cabinets and new appliances and a delightful dining area with rattan table and chairs. The property lies just around the corner from the 4-mile scenic drive which goes down to the Onomea Bay Beach and past the Botanical Gardens. It's only 5 miles to Hilo's bayfront, about 11 miles to the amazing Akaka Falls.

Hilo provides many beautiful parks, museums, shops, boutiques, restaurants, snorkeling beaches and the Imiloa Astronomy Center at the University of Hawaii. Don't forget all of the free things to do in Hilo - stroll along Banyan Drive, cross the bridge to Coconut Island, relax or kayak at Reed's Bay. Experience what it was like during the 1960 tidal wave that hit the town at the Tsunami Museum. Enjoy the colorful flowers, delicious local products and crafts found at the Hilo Farmer's Market. Stop at Kalakaua Park and pause at the statue of King Kalakaua. If you like waterfalls, don't miss the drive up Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots on the Wailuku River. Newly decorated Plantation Home: Newly decorated, this original redwood Hawaiian Plantation home offers a warm, cozy atmosphere, with original hardwood floors. Mission style, bamboo, and rattan furniture blend together for an old-fashioned feeling. A new flat screen T.V. with built in DVD player and Cable TV with DSL internet is provided, along with a small library of movies. Also included is a bookcase with a library of books and a reading lamp. There is a peek a boo view of the ocean from the Living room and kitchen, and a stream and rainforest borders the house on the side. Behind is a view of a beautifully groomed pasture and the mountains and hills beyond. Many tropical plants on the property include palms, bananas, mango, lychee, hapuu tree ferns, orchids, ti plants and more. An activity book will help you plan your vacation, along with maps and recommendations.

Kitchen and Laundry amenities: The large, bright kitchen has oak cabinets with glass fronts plus tiled counters , a new electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, rice cooker, blender, and toaster. There are tropical style plates, glasses and wine glasses. Pots and pans and utensils are provided. The dining area seats 4 people comfortably and provides a side table for a small buffet. There is an interior laundry room with washer and dryer and a large deep sink.

Off street parking: The house sits back off of the road and has covered parking for two cars plus a driveway for more. The covered carport can double as a lanai for family gatherings and barbecues with a patio table and chairs. A charcoal barbecue grill is ready for those great fun times when you want to sit outside and enjoy the fresh, warm tropical air.
