Attractions on the coast south of Conil: In front of Cape Trafalgar, there was a historical sea battle. Vejer belongs to the white villages and has a spectacular location on a hill with a good far view. The ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia are about 16 km from Tarifa, they can be reached from the national street N-340. The beach of Playa Valdevaqueros in front of Tarifa is good for surfers due to the good winds and offers a spectacular sand dune of about 40 m high.
