New chalet style house on lovely secluded, wooded lot. This is located in the wonderful community of Towamensing Trail. Towamensing Trails is 2900 pristine acres, with a 195 acre lake which has 3.5 miles of shoreline. This fabulous lake is stocked every year, has excellent fishing and ice skating in the winter. There is also a trout stream for fishing. There is a 4000 square-foot Clubhouse which features a bar, lounge and restaurant. There is a snack bar, a game room with pool tables, video games, and, locker rooms for men and women. Along side is a heated outdoor pool with a children's pool, and sandy beach swimming area. And too, you will find tennis courts, basketball courts, numerous hiking trails and playgrounds everywhere. Just 8 minutes from Big Boulder/Jack Frost Ski area and Splitrock resort which offers movies, bowling or just ice cream. 20 minutes from downtown Jim Thorpe, Penns Peak concerts.

There is parking for several cars. Very close to hunting, fishing, rafting, paint ball, shopping, skiing, snow tubing, snow boarding, mountain biking, hiking and the famous elevated Penns Peak for panoramic views of the mountain side, dining and concerts. Pocono race car events are only a short 8 minute drive away. Nightlife includes a short drive to restaurants, taverns and a dance clubs. The Historic Town of Jim Thorpe will provide several attractions for all ages to enjoy. Minutes from Hickory Run State park, great place to go running, hiking or mountain biking. For the shoppers, there is the Country Junction (worlds largest General Store), the outlet and antique stores all within 25 minutes. There is also plenty of golfing in the Poconos and surrounding areas.

    Holiday rates may be higher
    $250 refundable security deposit on all rentals. I do not charge a cleaning fee if you leave the house in the same condition as when you arrived. Cleaning fees start at $75.
    Pet fee: $100 per week, $75 per weekend.
    There is a $5 registration fee on all vehicles. That cost is paid directly to the Towamensing Trails Teepee.
    All beds have pillows and comforters. Sheets and all Linens can be provided for an additional $45.
    $475-$675 weekends, $775- $975 weeks.
    Rates may vary based on season. Based on 4 people and up. Rates may vary based on size of party.

Rental Requirements: Rental Requirements: $250 security deposit on all rental. Minimum age rental requirement: 25. Proof of age required for lease. Copy of drivers license required. Credit Card payment through Pay Pal, Personal Check, Money Orders. There is a $5 charge per vehicle registration paid directly to Towamensing Trails Teepee. Cleaning fees are not charged if the house is left in the same condition when you arrived.

There was eight of us that rented this great house for the Nascar race weekend. It was very new and clean, we had plenty of room for all of us. The deck was great to hang out on and there was plenty of room for us to sit around and watch the big TV. The house is very close to the Pocono Raceway and other attractions. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We recommend this house and would rent again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Owner said nothing re: lake having been drained

The house was clean and nice. It lacked a few basic necessities like a colander and a can opener. The greatest disappointment was that the owner did not state at the time I signed the lease that the advertised lake had been drained. He knew full well about this and admitted that "he forgot" and offered to refund me $50 as a "gesture". I took my family to the mountains for a vacation where the kids could spend the day playing on the beach and in the lake. Instead, to entertain two pre-schoolers we had to galavant all over the Poconos trying to find things for them to do, several of which were costly. We are sorely disappointed that we were sold a bill of goods that the owner could not deliver. We would not have rented this home had the owner been upfront with us.
Owner's Response: The house has a fully stocked kitchen which does include a colander and can opener. Every inquirery is informed about the summer 2009 dam repair which temporarily closed the lake. The beach area is still open and the pool has extended hours. Also supplied is a list of nearby free lakes with beach swimming areas. I regret this renter felt misinformed.

January 2009 stay

This was our first time renting this house and it was great. We only looked online and did not visit it in person prior to renting. The house was exactly as described and was extremely clean. We have rented numerous houses in Towamensing Trails and Lake Harmony and this was by far the best for the price and amenities. The beds were comfortable and most importantly (according to my wife) the bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was also new and included a working oven and dishwasher. We had 10 people here and the house fit us just fine. We skied the weekend and the house is easily accessible to both Jack Frost and Big Boulder. Shoveling out the driveway was a bit of a pain, but maybe next time we will rent after someone else does all of the hard work. Anyway, the price was still great. I would definitely rent this house again!!

Everthing was very clean and new. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the deer and turkey go buy. Would highly reccomend the place to anyone.
