Fairview is surrounded by spectacular, panoramic mountain scenery and rural farmland, yet maintains a stately atmosphere for guests to enjoy. The home offers 5 guest rooms with 4 private baths and is filled with elegant antiques. Located in Piney River, VA, a small rural town in Amherst County, Virginia, it was built shortly after the Civil War in 1867 by a wealthy doctor who valued the area for its breathtaking mountain views. The historic architecture of Fairview is rich and unique, as one of the most prominent examples of the Italianate style in the state. Noted architectural features include the tower, ocular windows, and intricate details throughout the exterior. A recently fully furnished guest cottage is also available with wonderful pastoral and bold mountain views. Guests may enjoy feeding and interacting with the Arabian horses and other pets, including our colorful peacocks.
