Elegantly situated in the Provençal countryside, one will find 'Villa MAS COTE SUD.' This beautiful home faces south across a vast, largely uninhabited, and quite spectacular valley in the heart of a 120 acre estate planted with truffles, oak trees, and lavender. Just 2 minutes from the village of Buoux in the Luberon National Park. This southern portion of an 18th century farm has been tastefully renovated and awaits your holiday dreams. It has its own entrance, driveway and parking as well as a pool and side terrace, both of which are private and unseen from the owner's side. The owner can speak fluent English, which is very helpful!

Notes: The kitchen has been designed around an ancient bread oven which was built into the wall centuries ago. The living room opens onto two terraces shaded by two Mulberry trees. From the terraces you are surrounded by impressive views of the Grand Luberon.

Buoux and the surrounding countryside are extremely well known for rock climbing and hiking. With a fabulous old Chateau and an extraordinary medieval fort, it's a photographers', hikers' and painters' delight. Also well know in the village, and serving excellent meals, are the Auberge de la Loube (see 'A year in Provence” by Peter Mayle!) and L'étape du Promeneur.

A fourth bedroom for one person can be open with additional charge (180Euros per week)

Wonderful place to relax

This property looks exactly the same as the pictures. We only stayed for a week but had such a wonderful time we could have stayed for a month. It is very peaceful and quiet yet not far from several interesting places to visit. The house is very clean and the property is immaculately maintained. The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful. I would highly recommend this property.

It must be Mathilde' s Belgium blood but she is very "touchy" to offer to our guests a nice and clean house!!!

Provence at its best

We had a wonderful week in early May. The location and setting of the house is fabulous and must surely be one of the most stunning in this part of Provence. There's plenty to do and see locally, and there are some lovely walks from the property up into the Luberon hills. The accomodation was clean, comfortable, quiet and relaxing, with some great views. Bernard was an excellent host and our stay was a very memorable one.

It is right that Domaine de Marrenon is a very special spot and that around there is so much to do and see (typical Provence villages, Pope castle in Avignon, Aix en Provence and museums, 12th century Fort in Buoux etc...) that often our guest have to come back after just a week stay !!!...

September period

We went 2 weeks in September, much better period than I thought it would be: nice weather and no crowd!
The farmhouse was very clean, fully furnished (incl bed for our baby) with a lovely interior. We also enjoyed the stunning view of the valley...
We still have great memories of our horse rides experience in the Luberon!!

I must say that it is a great idea to enjoy the September period with the usual good weather for hiking, cycling or visits at a lower price than in high season.

Cote Sud is a wonderful place to stay for a short or long holiday. However, you will never want to leave. The countryside is beautiful, the owners extremely hospitable and everything within the home if first rate, including the soft sheets and towels.

Buoux is truly a unique hamlet and has become our and our children's home away from home.
