TRUST THESE PHOTOS!!

The first thing to say about this home is trust the photos. This home is wonderful; the quality of the home speaks for itself in the photos. Sometimes vacation homes show you the good sides but here all sides are good and it is every bit as nice as it looks. The home is spacious and open with lots of room for multiple activities from shooting pool, listening to music, watching the big screen, reading or, my favorite, sitting on the front porch with a good book.
It is in a neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown Lubec, easy walking. Here you will find a surprising number of good places to eat. There is a small coffee/ bakery, sandwich shop at the end of the street for fresh baked muffins, cookies, bread and breakfast sandwiches. You can get lunch and for an early dinner the pizza is wonderful with a sort of sweet, yeasty tasting home made crust.
Frank’s, a block further down Water Street, and you can get a bargain on a fresh fried fish basket. No alcohol sold but BYOB is encouraged with no corkage charged! The local IGA market takes some searching for things but it is surprisingly well stocked just not all similar items are together. Across from the deli counter and far from the bread aisle you may find some nice artisan breads and down the shelf, if you look close, Starbucks coffee beans. I mention that because a good cup of coffee may be the single disappointment of you vacation in Lubec but you can brew your own. The home has a coffee bean grinder in the kitchen. While the IGA may not have your vintage, Parker 91 point, wines they do a nice job with a selection of low and mid priced wines and prices as good as the well know New Hampshire liquor stores.
While we were there we experienced plenty of cultural/entertainment activities. We ate chicken with music in the park one evening and another evening we enjoyed a piano concert in a near by church. You can check the various posters in shop windows or you can just talk to the folks in town and you will learn even more.
We’re from Florida and we usually head for the western mountains in summer but this year friends convinced us to come to Lubec. Absolutely no regrets, we loved the town and Geno’s home was the perfect places for us to be for the 2 weeks we were here.
