Coconut Isle Villa near Port Antonio, Jamaica, is a great get-away-from-it-all vacation spot!

Coconut Isle Villa is located in the village of Long Bay, in the Parish of Portland, 14 miles east of Port Antonio, Jamaica. It is situated directly on a mile-long private, white-sand beach. It is adjacent to a coconut grove, and is one of eight houses on the entire beach.

If you want to relax and be away from the "resort scene" this is the place. Meet real Jamaicans who farm and fish for a living. You can swim right off the porch. The sound of the sea will lull you to sleep each evening. Clean and pleasant. a little farther from Port Antonio then some of us would have liked because we are scuba divers but the relaxed atmosphere is worth it. loved the c-life restaurant which prepares meals for one family at a time. There is an odd man who everyone in town says is crazy who comes around begging for food who did an excellent job of washing our car for 500 jamaican dollars a few times. Natis and Gary, the caretakers make sure you have everything you need. We stayed 2 weeks and were sad to leave.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

MY SECOND FAVORITE PLACE IN JAMAICA

My most favorite place in the beautiful island of Jamaica is Bob Marley's resting place in St. Ann that is a two hour ride from Coconut Isle in Long Bay. I stay at Coconut Isle Villa because of its location on the beach and the hospitality of the local residents. Nothing compares to the sound of the ocean and the beauty of the beach. Over the years I have developed lasting relationships with the community and I never feel like a tourist. I highly recommend Coconut Isle as a comfortable family or singles get away.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

We visited in late February after a web search found "Coconut Isle" - we set off not know exactly waht we were getting into but it would be an adventure.
The pictures and emails UNDERstated the beauty of the setting and the relaxed feeling you get the moment you step out of you vehicle.
Natis - the house keeper- is also a GREAT COOK and made a 'mean' Curry Shrimp for the night we arrived...
The SWIMMING is great and the front porch is worth the ride from rural St. Catherine...
Recommend WITHOUT reservationa nd ENCOURAGE others to try this hidden treasure in Long Bay.
