Photos and Description of this Epirus holiday house

Our well equipped house with air conditioning and heating – directly at the beach – lies amidst olive and fig trees and is ideal for a large family respective two friendly families. With 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms it offers room for up to 7 people. Each bedroom has direct acces to the spacious terrace. In front of the entrance there is a large (75 m²) terrace that invites to watch the sunrise accorded by a nice breakfast. After about 100 m the 3 km long sandy beach starts from Vrahos. It counts to the most beautiful of all northern/western Greece. Since the house lies at the end of the sand plain, you will find a good place at the beach even during high season. The beach café Farsos – owned by our friend Filipo and his wife – is only 100 m away. Here you experience – the entire beach at your doorstep – breathtaking sunsets. Filipo and Eleni will inspire you with their hospitality.

Vrahos Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of northwest Greece. The islands off the coast create fantastic sunsets. Here you can still find the typical Greece that is being only slowly endeavoured by tourism. Apart from the greek high season from July till middle of August, where there is a little turbulence, people spread at the long sandy beach and everybody can find his favourite place. At the beach there are enough taverns, cafés and restaurants – there is something there for everybody. You want even more nativeness? No problem! Visit the surrounding mountain villages and experience new views – on one hand of the off-coast islands Paxos, Andipaxos, Korfu and Lefaka – on the other hand of the breathtaking mountain landscape. Get to know the people in the area, the small Kafenions and taverns. The hospitality of the locals will cast a spell on you!

Notes: There will be no new pictures until January, because the house is being renovated and newly arranged. Whoever has seen the old Villa Vrahos knows that we are trying very hard to guarantee you a stay in a well-arranged house. Central heating means air conditioning with heating function in the living quarters and radiators in the bedrooms. Bathrooms are equipped with fan heaters. All windows have high-quality mosquito nets. A VW-bus, 6 seats, is leasable for 150 € per week.

Neighbourhood: Our house is located 100 m from the beach, set back and protected by a green wall of reed, busches and olive trees. There are plenty minimarkets, taverns, cafés and restaurant in the neighbourhood.

Taverns in the village of Vrahos: At the village square of Vrahos there are two taverns, where you can eat and drink very well at a low price. In the smaller taverns there is usually only a main plate and few appetizers. But you can get delicious “Mezes” (small starters), if you order alcoholic beverages, and that for free. If you are planning on letting the day fade away with a few glasses, you always get these tasty, homemade (!) little appetizers. We have often gotten full of them! Trust us! A tradition that is more and more rarely found in Greece. In the surrounding villages and at the beach there are multiple taverns, you need a car to reach them though.

Shopping: Larger shopping facilities in Kanalaki, about 15 km away, Champion-Supermarket**** for example. Advice: We stop at the around 35 km distant town of Preveza at the beginning of our holidays, here is a Lidl and a Champion- Market. Furthermore a nice excursion and the flair of a charming port.

Lieber Michi, wir danken Dir von ganzem Herzen für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt in der neuen Villa Vrahos Beach - Kathrin, Tino und Stefan ** Was soll ich schreiben-- war alles super und wir waren glücklich hier. Manuela und Rudi ** Wir möchten uns für das Begrüßungsgeschenk bedanken und hoffen, das wir das tolle Häuschen nicht allzusehr 'zerwohnt' haben. Fam. Klausch Barwisch & Fam. Petterich-Schorg ** …vielen Dank, dass wir für eine, leider viel zu kurze Zeit, in Ihrem Paradies wohnen durften, es wurden alle Erwartungen ge- und übertroffen. Andreas, Elke, Alexander und Katharina Werum ** Unser letzter Blick fiel aufs Meer. Jeder wischte sich heimlich eine Träne aus dem Auge. Der süße Geschmack vom letzten Eisbecher bei Eleni (Anm. nebenan Cafe Faros), lag uns immer noch auf der Zunge. Schwermütig denken wir noch einmal an die letzten zwei Wochen.....Last but not least. ... bald sind wir wieder da!

Auch wir - eine bunt gemischte Reisegruppe - haben uns sehr wohl in Vrahos gefühlt. Morgens Frühstück auf der Terasse und abends grillen. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Keine 2 Min. Fussweg waren wir am Strand.
Freie Liegestühle standen schon bereit. Das Meer war herrlich (sauberes und klares Wasser) Urlaubstimmung von Feinsten wie unter Freunden. Die Gastgeber der umliegenden Gaststätten waren sehr freundlich. Es gibt jede Menge interessante und schöne Ausflugziele rund um Vrahos. Ein Ort einfach zum Wohlfühlen, wo das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis noch vollkommen im Gleichgewicht ist.
.... wir kommen wieder!

seht gut Ausstatung des Hauses, wir haben uns gleich wie Zuhause gefühlt. Da wir 3 Hunde haben waren wir schon etwas gespannt was uns erwartet, aber es gab keinerlei Probleme mit den Leuten ganz im Gegenteil.
Super Urlaub für uns und unsere 3 Babys, wir kommen wieder.

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir haben in der Bucht von Vrahos und bei Ausflügen in den Epirus 4 wunderschöne Wochen verbracht. Das Ferienhaus mit großer Terrasse, Sonnenschirm und 3 Liegen eignet sich für Familien mit Kindern oder auch für befreundete Ehepaare, da neben den 3 Schlafräumen und der Wohnküche auch 2 DU/WC vorhanden sind. Das Haus ist mit Waschmaschine, großem Kühlschrank, 4 Platten-E-Herd mit Backröhre, Kaffeemaschine, SAT-TV, Telefon sowie Klimaanlage komplett eingerichtet. Der Vermieter und die deutschsprachige Verwalterin kümmern sich intensiv um das Wohlergehen ihrer Gäste. Hilfe, Unterstützung und Empfehlungen bekommt man auch bei Eleni und Filipo (beide sprechen auch deutsch) im in unmittelbarer Nähe gelegenen Cafe Faros (dt.: Leuchtturm) sowie bei Birgit im Optikerladen Look in Kanallaki. Von der Terrasse des Cafe´s aus kann man die Bucht überblicken und wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge erleben. Vom Haus zum Sandstrand sind es 2 min zu Fuß. Dort kann man bei Bestellung eines Getränkes pro Person die Liege und den Sonnenschirm gratis ganztägig benutzen, was ein sehr faires Angebot im Vergleich zu anderen Urlaubsregionen ist. An den Wochenenden wird es am Strand voller und auch lauter, da die Einwohner aus Arta, Kanallaki, Preveza und Umgebung diese Bucht aktiv u.a. zum Wassersport nutzen. Die Cafebesitzer säubern täglich den Strandabschnitt, insbesondere auch an den Wochenenden, um den, trotz vorhandener Abfalleimer, durch die Einheimischen hinterlassenen Müll zu beseitigen.
Als Empfehlung für die vielen möglichen Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung hat der Vermieter eine Informationsmappe vorbereitet. Auch die Eintragungen der Vormieter im Gästebuch enthalten Insiderinformationen, die sehr nützlich sind.
Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!
