Ellsworth holiday house

We had a wonderful week at Out to Camp. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the beautiful kitchen with granite countertops. The pictures online don't do it justice! The rest of the house is just lovely and was more than big enough for two families with children. The house has a lovely large side yard which was great for playing wiffleball and other games and there is a basketball hoop in the driveway (basketball included).

The lake is extremely quiet which was just wonderful. We took the canoe and kayaks out regularly. The canoe was the only option for the kids (ages 4 and 7) but it is a large canoe that fits two adults and two kids quite comfortably so it worked out perfectly. It was so nice that the boats were included with the house rental! There are also plenty of PFD's in all sizes so you don't have to bring them. We also used the canoe for fishing, and we caught plenty of small mouth and large mouth bass, pickerel, sunny's and a few others. Don't worry - we threw them all back so you can catch them too! You can fish right off the dock too, you don't have to use the canoe to catch a big one. The lake is very nice for swimming - bring your tubes and your water shoes. You can't jump in off the dock at the house but there is a floating dock a short swim away which was a lot of fun.

The layout of the house was very nice. The children's bedrooms were on the lower level - two bedrooms both with twins and one with bunk beds. The pool table and dart board are also on this level. There is a bedroom and bath on the first level off the kitchen and the second bedroom with queen and full bath are upstairs. If you have little kids, bring a monitor - you will need it. We really enjoyed the firepit and at night while you are sitting there around the fire looking at the lake and listening to the loons you truly feel like you are camping....until you turn around and see the beautiful house behind you.

Bar Harbor and Acadia are about 30 miles from the house and we were there 4 out of the 6 days. It wasn't far at all and there is so much to do. Our vacation was a very nice mix of staying at the house and enjoying all of the amenities there, and driving into the park and hiking and sightseeing.

Overall, I highly recommend this house. Have a great vacation!
