Tenuta Le Case Nuove is an elegant classical Tuscan villa about 1 km from the sea (8-10 minutes on foot), surrounded by approx. 150 hectares of cornfields, heather and olive trees and a little lake for country walks. The villa, built around 1800, is about 800 m2 and has been the family s summer and winter residence since then. There s a classical garden in front. Its 150-year-old trees give plenty of shade on hot summer days. All the villas furniture is antique, but all services, e.g. gas central heating, washing machine and dishwasher and state-of-the-art electricity generator, are up-to-date. The upper floor contains 6 bedrooms (4 double, 2 single). There’s plenty of space for extra cots, and there’s a view of the garden and the sea. There are also 4 baths and 2 small wash rooms. On request you can also rent, separately or together, the Fattoria with its 150 m2. The beautifully renovated Fattoria contains, all on one floor, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large kitchen and living room with a Roman fountain.You’ll find a direct link to the Fattoria (FeWo-direkt.de-Nr.: 22492) at 'further information/ internet'. Organised nature walks and guided bicycle tours to Volterra or Elba.

There’s lots to do all around this area. Florence, Siena, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra and Pisa are just 30 to 60 minutes away by car. Bicycles on request. Organised workshops and seminars for small groups. Professional language courses are available. We also offer 5 day cookery courses (booked in advance) with a Tuscan cook at Castiglioncello. Distance from beach 1.8 km. We love to organize weddings as well. Come and get married in romantic Castiglioncello. A cook could be ordered on special demand, also for one dinner only.

Wines

Since the 13th century there have been vineyards on Terricio near Castiglioncello, but they have only been world famous for the last 10 years. 'The Tenuta del Terricio is a cellar that is regularly awarded the highest marks at wine-testing, to shouts of joy,' so says the Italian wine expert 'Gambero Rosso'. In the little picturesque town of Bolgheri as well as in Castiglioncello they make wine from Cabernet, Sauvignon und Franc grapes. The wine they produce is opulent, intense and long lasting.
