This property has the best views and sunsets along Lake Champlain's 'Gold Coast.' The lakefront has a pretty, not-typical sandy beach. Vermont's premier resort, Basin Harbor Club, is in the next bay (0.2 mile by land), offering casual dining, golf, tennis, and other activities for our visitors. Lake Champlain is a large lake, 120 miles long; our view (southern) is of Westport, NY, 7 miles away, with Mt. Placid (site of the Winter Olympics) and the Adirondack Mountains in the background. Mile Point on Lake Champlain is a beautiful, special place; couples, families and friends have gathered at this site to revitalize their spirits and recharge their batteries, many returning year after year. The Shelburne Farms and Shelburne Museum are local attractions, as well as three star restaurants in nearby Vergennes; Frog Hollow, in Middlebury, for Vermont's finest traditional and contemporary crafts; Maritime Museum with exhibits, historic artifacts, live demonstrations- with Lake Champlain's history, from explorer Samuel de Champlain, through the key naval battles of the Revolutionary War and War of 1812, up to the present day- and it is right in our bay! walking trails, state parks, biking trails, water sports, fishing, antiques, Fort Ticonderoga; there's always plenty to do or just relax, watching the sail boats from our deck.
