Not an ordinary place

DPA Kingston
Review Submitted: March 1, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2008
I have stayed at The Eckhart House on several occasions and each time it feels new and special. Whether it is the locally-made lavender soap, the fresh herbs from the garden or the excellent service, the experience has been relaxing and memorable.
This house is unquestionably the ideal setting for a family reunion, summer holiday, or weekend getaway with friends. It is spacious, always spotless and has all the amenities including an incredibly well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are a good size and tastefully decorated; the one on the main floor is well-situated for anyone unable to easily negotiate stairs. The full laundry facility is a useful feature during a week long stay, or, after a day of grape picking (or tasting!). The stone terrace is a favorite spot to drink the morning brew and watch the cows grazing in the neighbouring field.
The Eckhart House is about comfort and savouring life. It is the kind of place you want to come back to at the end of a day, whether it is a day spent exploring the County, swimming at the Sandbanks, or after a hike past the incredible ice volcanoes in mid-January. I highly recommend this unique place. It is ideal..... at any time of year.
