The Living Room / 2nd Bedroom features a twin-size futon sofabed (sleeps 1), a full-size futon sofabed (sleeps 2), a floor lamp, another walk-in closet, two south-facing windows that bathe the room in morning light, and which overlook beautiful Gardens with a 50' “Tree of Heaven,” Cherry & Pear Blossom trees; wild Grape, Pumpkin & aromatic Honeysuckle vines, a waterfall pond and lawns. Also, the Home is in the migratory paths of many songbirds, and they will often sit upon the branches just outside this window to sing. Three of our children stayed in Apartment 2 at Macon Manor for a week in early July 2009 and loved every minute of it. My twin daughters and three of their girlfriends, all 17-year-old school students from Sydney, Australia, had my 27-year-old son and his wife with them. They all thought the Apartment, its facilities and location were excellent. Everything to do with the rental was easily done and the neighbourhood was safe, convenient, interesting and very friendly. Top marks for great accommodation which offered full value for money.

My best friend and I stayed in True's apartment for Memorial Day Weekend 2009. We found the apartment to be very clean and spacious. True was an excellent host and the neighborhood was both gorgeous and safe! The nearby Breadystuy cafe was cozy and they make an excellent french vanilla latte.

We had actually stayed in TRUE (the owner's) other apartment back in July, and we had such a great experience we decided to try out this apartment on this visit.

We truly had a wonderful experience. The home is lovely, the apartment was very tastefully decorated, and filled with quality books, a DVD library, and really nice original art. It's very comfy and spacious -- we could have easily fit another 5 people (last time we brought our kids, this time it was just the 2 of us -- we had more than enough room). It was also surprisingly quiet -- most times all we could hear were the leaves rustling on the trees and birds singing.

The neighborhood is really nice -- trees and flowers and beautiful houses everywhere you look. We learned from our last visit that we didn't need a car, so this time we took the subway to get into Manhattan, and did a lot of walking around the neighborhood to explore the various shops, boutiques, galleries & cafes (try "Peaches" and "Bread Stuy," our 2 favorite local eateries).

The subway station is only a few minutes walk away, and we felt safe enough to take the train at all times. The train is express, so we were able to get to Chinatown and the West Village in under 20 minutes, and Broadway in about 30!

We could go on and on...we just love Macon Manor, and we'll be staying there on our next visit!
