The Acorn is located 2 miles south of Carmel across Highway One from Point Lobos State Park - one of the most magnificent and picturesque areas on the West Coast. This property is located on approximately 5 acres on the top of a knoll overlooking Carmel Bay, Pebble Beach and Point Lobos. Surrounded by open space and park land, the Acorn is a very private setting yet only a 5 minute drive to a new Safeway, shopping and Carmel-by-the-Sea shops and dining. Golf, scuba diving, hiking, beaches -- all close by. Big Sur is a scenic drive just 40 minutes south on Highway One. In addition to the main house, there is a charming guest house with full accommodations.

The Main House: The main house features a king master suite with sliding glass doors that provide romantic, breathtaking views of Point Lobos and Pebble Beach and access to the home's expansive deck. There is also a queen bedroom with separate bathroom and dressing room that also has access to the deck via sliding glass doors. Two additional bedrooms each have two twin beds. A sofa bed in the parlor/game room provides additional sleeping accommodations.

Guest House: The guest cottage is a charming, cozy 3-room cottage with a king bed, full bath, kitchen and laundry. This unique cottage provides ultimate privacy from the main house should you so desire. Yet it is close enough to provide additional guess accommodations for friends or family.

In a word, mesmerizing...

We recently had the opportunity to visit the Acorn for a gathering with friends and family. We had a wonderful barbeque dinner in front of the stone fireplace in the dining room. The views from this house are amazing, overlooking Point Lobos and Carmel/Pebble Beach. And it overlooks Monastery Beach so you can watch the waves crashing on the rocks on the beach below. Quite mesmerizing... The house has such ambiance and charm. The coolest thing: it has a pitching mat where you can hit golf balls from the deck out into the pasture... :-p

I would highly recommend this property for a family get-together or gathering of friends. It is such a beautiful, tranquil setting.

If you are looking for a place to unwind on the California coast this is it! The views are breathtaking and there are seating areas everywhere outside. Great for 2 couples with so much privacy. This would be a great place to hang out and write a novel!

Amazing hideaway!!! We cannot say enough about this property. Everything was more than what we expected. The patio with the white water view was amazing, so much so that we wanted to spend all of our time there. Beautiful sun sets and beautiful star light. The big plus was that the house is on a grassy bluff all on it's own. No noise, no traffic, no neighbors. A very peaceful spot. The interior is very spacious and welcoming with water views from all over. The guest cottage is charming. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back to this beautiful property.

Can't wait to get back!!!

Across the highway (walking distance) from Point Lobos and Monestery Beach, there is so much to do and see. Breathtaking views up the coast you can see all the way to the Pebble Beach Golf Course.

The house, which easily sleeps 10 people and provides ample privacy for all, was designed by a well known San Francisco architect and is beautifully detailed throughout. It is sited in a grove of trees overlooking the Carmel Bay where we have watched, on many occasions, the setting sun.


It is a beautiful place to be.

We wanted privacy, quiet, wildlife, history and space to spread out, in addition to not having to drive too far to get into downtown Carmel. The Acorn provided all in a gorgeous and comfortable setting like no other I have experienced in the US. We will go back again, and although we were just two, this huge space could truly and comfortably accommodate the 10 that is indicated. The ocean view is magnificent, and at night you can even hear seals, even though you are atop a hill and set back from the ocean, visible from points all over the property. This is a secure and lovely place, and there is ample space and decking to enjoy the beautiful ocean, gardens and outdoors. It is perfect for getting a dinner together, and there are several wood-burning fireplaces. When we got lazy, we drove all of 5 minutes to get to the Rio Grill, and maybe 10 to get into downtown Carmel. This has also turned out to be a great point from which to launch day trips to Big Sur and beyond. Living in a dense city like San Francisco, we really appreciated the fact that no one was around us up there in that house--no neighbors, no trafic noise, no one wandering around. We will go back again. If you are a golfer, you can actually see Pebble Beach out the front window--there are many courses closeby. This property will not disappoint. It always exceeds our expectations and we love going back.
