Spacious two-story self catering villa - one of fourteen built in landscaped gardens with a 10m swimming-pool. The villa sleeps 4, with two bedrooms and bathrooms, TV, living and dining areas, kitchen and sun terraces/balconies. Fitts is a fishing village, located in St James on the west coast near the world famous Sandy Lane Hotel. The villa is a short walk from restaurants, shops and the glorious white sand of the Fitts Village Esplanade and beach. Throughout the year, temperatures average daily highs of 27°C to 31°C, with Barbados being outside the Caribbean hurricane belt. Barbados is a major golf venue, and the nearest courses are at the Sandy Lane Hotel. We recommend hiring a car to fully see the beauty of the island, and we can help with this, just ask.

Within walking distance are shops and restaurants, including 'Il Tempio' which was often visited by Pavarotti. Fitts Village is only a few miles north of Bridgetown, the capital of the island. Bridgetown has many shops, bars and restaurants, the cricket ground (Kensington Oval) and horse race track at 'The Garrison'. Also at Bridgetown you can take catamaran trips up the west coast and stop to swim and feed the turtles. To the north of Fitts Village, passing through 'Sandy Lane' is 'Holetown' another area where you will find many shops and bars and restaurants. All of this coastline has stunning public beaches for you to choose from.

This bedroom has two windows, which makes the room very light and airy. There is also provided a new cot and high chair.

Notes: US style open plan kitchen, with large fridge/freezer and cooker. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The utility area has a large top loading washing machine and tumble dryer above. There is a clothes dryer and pegs and basket. We have provided a iron and ironing board. Next to the kitchen is the dining area with table and chairs. This then leads to the lounge area, which has a white rattan 3-seater and 2-seater sofa, a chair and a coffee table. There is a TV which only plays DVDs, CDs and a radio. There is also a downstairs balcony with views over the pool and this has a small table and 2 chairs and outside light. We have provided for your use a telephone to make local calls. Weekly cleaning and linen change is included in the advertised price. All linen and towels are included except towels for the pool or beach, please bring your own

Recent reviews 1: '6 Ajoupa Villas is an exellent place to visit Barbados from. We have two children ages 15 and 13 and the villa was the perfect size for us. It was very clean, with modern appliances and some nice little touches such as beach umbrellas, portable cooler for the beach, and even boogie boards!! The pool is a must to cool-off in the afternoon, even after a day at the beach. Its also a great way to start your day. If you are looking for a place to stay that makes visiting Barbados fun, central to all sites, and great value, then this villa is for you.'

Recent reviews 3: 'For those of you who are having a difficult time deciding which part of the Island to stay, whether on the East Coast or West Coast, I suggest that you try the Ajoupa Villas on the West Coast in Fitts Village, St. James. The Villa exceeded my expectations. It is well maintained, clean, quiet, very close to public transportation, if youre not going to rent a car, and I felt quite safe there. The locals were wonderful to us, giving us mangos or directions and I was quite please with the place, despite the roosters crowing. The sound of it was wonderful...to me. Taking in the culture of the Island was also beautiful. There is Jordans Supermarket (right down the hill to your left) to do your food shopping, however, I visited Fishermans Pub in Speightstown, St. Peter (Take the Bus or minivan marked Speightstown to the last stop), where they serve bajan food by the water and the cost is affordable and you also get a great view.
