Photos and Description of this Ascea holiday house

Our holiday house of 50 qm with children’s playground is located near the ancient place of Velia. It has 2 bedrooms, living room / kitchen (brilliant equipped), bath with shower and 2 large patios (one sunny, 1 shady - fully furnished with sun beds, umbrellas, barbecue) and a small balcony. It is fenced in with parking space, warm water showers outside and just 100 m to the lovely 7 km long sandy beach, less than 2 km to the centre of Ascea, 2 km to the railway ICE station. A few hundred metres to the next supermarket, tennis, petrol station (but you don’t need a car), restaurant, horse riding school, discos, soccer etc. A nearby hotel offers music and entertainment (August). The owner rents his cars cheap and from day to day. Pets are welcome.

In Ascea you will have to differentiate between Marina and the main town, which is called Paesse. Paesse, which is on 234 meters, has an historical town centre and a piazza that is the center of the social life of the town. Ascea Paesse is framed harmonically by numerous hills with olive groves and you will have a wonderful view over the gulf of Velia and all the way up to Capo Palinuro. Two different roads lead down the way from Paese to the Marina. The Marina is situated at the coast on the southern end of the gulf of Velia. On the end of this part of town is the Scogliera, which is one into the ocean protruding rock formation below the remains of the Saracen tower originating in the 12 century. Here you will find the Fondazione Alario, close by the train station. The Fondazione Alario is a foundation for the advancement of cultural exchange and the care and spread of the heritage of the classical antique philosophy and architecture.

Mein Mann u. ich sowie unser Dackel Moritz durften 2 wunderbare Wochen im September 09 in Marina di Ascea, Villa Velia, verbringen. Villa Velia verspricht im Internet keinesfalls zuviel. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber u. komfortabel, hervorragende Matratzen. Die strand- und ortsnahe Umgebung ist optimal. Alles ohne Auto erreichbar. Der Vermieter Franco u. seine Frau Antonietta sind zwei ganz liebe, herzliche Persönlichkeiten. Durch Franco durften wir auch unser Wissen über Olivenanbau u. Produktion noch erweitern u. nebenbei die traumhafte Umgebung geniessen. Ebenso Franco`s hervorragenden Limoncello. Muß man unbedingt probieren. Bei uns blieb`s nicht beim Probieren. Alles in allem ein Traumurlaub. Wer einen geruhsamen, u. doch mit sehr vielen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten gespickten Urlaub bevorzugt, liegt hier genau richtig.

Sonne, Sand und Meer - was will man mehr?

Nach Stadturlaub in Venedig und Rom war Ascea mit diesem tollen Ferienhäuschen die Krone unseres Urlaubs - hübsch und freundlich eingerichtet, sehr sauber, wirklich supernah zum Strand und ein sehr gastfreundlicher und hilfsbereiter Besitzer, von dem wir auch einiges über die Gegend und den Olivenanbau lernen konnten. Auch hier kam die Kultur nicht zu kurz - die Ausgrabungen von Velia waren gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und Pompei in ca. 1 1/2 Std. Bahnfahrt.

'Uns hat es in dem von Ihnen vermittelten Haus sehr gut gefallen, und die Strandnähe war wirklich so wie beschrieben. Daß im Haus sehr ordentliche Betten vorhanden sind, ist im Süden ebenfalls nicht selbstverständlich. Was uns auch sehr gut gefallen hat, waren die nahen Tennisplätze (Sand!) und die Betreuung durch Gino und Armando, dessen Essen wir in Terradura natürlich auch ausprobierten.
Falls es uns wieder in das Cilento-Gebiet zieht, werden wir uns gerne wieder bei Ihnen melden in der Hoffnung, wieder dieses schöne Plätzchen mieten zu können.' Georg und Hilde Kuhn aus Puchheim
