Paradise in Aruba

Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel when they can stay at CasAruba? From the first moment that we were greeted by Francois, the property manager, we knew this was the place to vacation with our three children. The grounds of the property are beautiful and the furnishings well appointed. I cooked all but three nights of our nine night visit and had everything I needed in the kitchen (One night we were treated to delicious fondue dinner that Francois cooked for our family! And I won't even mention how fabulous his Chocolate Mousse Pie is...) It was wonderful dining inside as well as outside at the table overlooking the pool. The beds in all three bedrooms were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels, etc. in the bathrooms. It was wonderful having the washer and dryer so we did not have to travel with as much luggage as one would on a vacation. The kids loved helping me hang clothes on the hidden clothes line (they actually thought it was fun!). My husband and son golfed at Tierra del Sol twice and they would have gone back again but decided to attempt windsurfing at the Marriott just down the road. They had a great time and loved how wonderful the instructors were for my son, who was a beginner. Although the house is located near the High Rise area (and we did walk the beaches and played bingo at the Marriott) it is also within a 10 minute drive north to Arashi Beach and 10 minutes south to our favorite beach in the Low Rise area, Eagle Beach. If you have never been to Aruba (as we had not) we did not know that all of the beaches are public so even though we did not stay in a hotel we had access to all of the beaches on the island. And they are just beautiful! At the end of the day, it was great relaxing at our pool at the house and sipping a cocktail (or three...) Speaking of, the wine is cheap (much more reasonable than the U.S.) and the grocery stores have everything that you would expect from one in the United States. Also, even though we only ventured out three times for dinner, the food at the restaurants were fabulous! We went to the Pirate's Nest (only if you eat outside-inside is a bit cheesy. Everyone loved their meals!), Pelican's Cove (out on a pier, romantic-ish and good steaks) and Smokey Joe's Island Grill for fantastic ribs! These were good options to visit with families (or not!). In conclusion, we would highly recommend renting this beautiful island home in Aruba. I miss it already.....
