Our stay in New York City

Roclajo Buenos Aires, Argentina
Review Submitted: January 8, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
The description of the apt was perfect, just as seen on the internet. It was very clean (everything, but specially the bathroom), well heated (it was so nice to get in the heated apt after strolling all around in the cold city), well maintained (the refrigerator and the stove were practically new) and we were very pleased to find coffee when we arrived from Argentina after such a long way!!!!! Thank you Boge!!! He was very kind and showed interest in helping us in case of need.
We definitely recommend this property. It is very well located, with the metro at a few blocks, grocerie markets really at a throw of stone, also nice restaurants in the surroundings. The neighbourhood is beautifull!!! It was perfect for us, we were a team of a mother and 2 young daughters. And there was enough room for one more. We spent such a good time!!!
We wish to come back some day. Maybe...Who knows...

Great location, well equipped

Dre81 Detroit, MI
Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
A great apartment; highly recommended.

As I understood it, this studio was down the street from the one mentioned by other reviewers, replacing the other one due to rent concerns. Located on the fourth floor, it is easily accessed with an elevator.

Bright and clean and fairly spacious even for four adults (compared to a hotel room). Queen-size bed + bunk bed/futon was OK for four, and could fit five if two are fine with sharing the futon.

Towels and sheets were supplied; Boge picked up the laundry after our stay. Bathroom was clean, with a bathtub if you're so inclined. Some cleaning supplies were there. No problem with the kitchen stove, very small food preparation area, fridge works but makes loud clunking noises now and then (sounds like someone's rattling the door). Plenty of silverware and plates/bowls/glasses/cups, but may not have all the utensils you'll want. No pasta strainer, for example. And can opener was useless. But these are minor concerns.

We got three sets of keys. Grocery stores (and bars and restaurants) are close by on 3rd Ave. It's within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal and Empire State Building. In other words, it's a great location. But the tunnel from Queens exits right outside the window, so the traffic is constant and pretty loud (non-stop honking), but the air conditioner drowns out some of the noise. Most people should sleep fine.

Computer screen doubles as a TV, but it seems to be a work in progress, as there was only one cable for the TV/modem, so we had to choose whether we wanted Internet hooked up or the TV. Boge told us ahead of time that somebody would be there to hook up the Internet on Wednesday, but we noticed someone had been in the apartment without us knowing it on Friday as well. But our things were untouched, which obviously is most important.

Boge was great throughout the entire process; quick to answer my e-mails, signing the rental agreement, and providing information. Before I left for NYC he gave me his number; when we arrived, we called him, he met us outside the apartment, let us in and gave us some instructions on what to do and not to do. And that was it. He was very polite and professional.

Finally, the apartment exceeded my expectations and I would definitely stay there again.

This little studio was what we needed for our getaway to NYC. Boge is a great guy and strong as an ox...he carried my 50lb suitcase up 3 flights of stairs!! Building is clean and the studio is very tidy with everything u need to stay comfortably. It is located just a few blocks from the Empire State Building and close to many of the main attractions and subway-bus line. Food and shopping is right around the corner literally. I never figured out the airconditioning so ask how to use it, and make sure you have a phone number for contact before you go to confirm the meeting time for keys. Its noisy, but its right in the heart of the city. 3 flights of stairs is a good workout but do-able if u are able bodied.Parking is not available in the daytime without hefty cost so i would not advise parking or driving in Manhattan HAHA!! Would I stay there again....U BET!!

two thumbs up

It was a great place to stay. The location was great-easy access to the subway, and within walking distance to many of NYC's sights. The description was perfect. It was clean, quiet, and safe.

It is on the third floor without an elevator, which was not a problem for us, just something to be aware of.

I would return again without a doubt.

Exactly as advertised, owner very kind and helpful

Review Submitted: April 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My girlfriend and I stayed here and absolutely loved it! Walking distance from anything you need - including the subway, great restaurants and a grocery store. Use the fully-equipped kitchen to make your own meals and save a dime, or step outside to find a wide variety of places to eat, drink and be merry.

This was my first visit to NYC and I feel like I got a great taste of the city life without feeling so much like a tourist in a hotel.

There is a bit of road noise through the windows, but I love having windows to look out of when I'm vacationing. You can open them too. After all, this is NYC, one of the greatest cities in the world, so expect it to be hopping at all hours.

Boge is super-friendly, helpful, and honest. He was willing to help us with our bags up the stairs which was a pleasant surprise.

The place is cozy and clean. The building is old and has a lot of character - it adds to the charm. It's a bit of a long walk up the stairs which is no problem for most, but may be if you have any kind of mobility issue.

I would definitely recommend this place to any friend going to NYC.

Cheers!

Joe
