Seaweed is located on Somes Sound; the only natural fjord on the east coast of the United States. You are so close to the water that you can almost dangle your feet in the water at high tide. Sit on the deck and get the feeling you are aboard a lobster boat trying to catch your evening’s meal. Enjoy a sunrise greeting you as it rises over Parkman and Sargent Mountain. See sailboats taking off for deeper waters and heartier winds, or kayakers paddling their way along the coastline. This cottage is located in a secluded cove that affords you a nice, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere after a day in Acadia National Park. Enjoy sailing, swimming and fishing in either the ocean or fresh water lakes close by. Seaweed provides a secluded getaway that is centrally located to any of the attractions of Mount Desert Island. Your “relaxing” time can be as busy as you choose to make it or as peaceful and serene as the natural setting that is Seaweed cottage.

It also offers nature walks, naturalist cruises and lectures. Golf at any one of three courses located on the Island.
