New Orleans holiday house

We were so disappointed. This was intended to be the highlight of our Christmas/Family Renunion. We rented 4/5 of the rooms to wrap up our Christmas cruise. The house is old and run down. Although the decor was fine on the surface (and the pictures look great), at closer inspection it needed a great deal of work. The house was very dirty and nearly everything was falling apart and or broken. The kitchenettes weren't even stocked with soap to wash the dishes, no dish towels, etc. I was afraid to even drink a cup of tea or make coffee. We purchased stirofoam dishes rather than use those provided. The hot tub was filthy! The water was brown and full of leaves. We didn't even get near it. I was afraid to even drink a cup of tea. No telling how long it had been since it was really cleaned. One "lovely" room had a bed so rickity that I was afraid for my daughter to sleep in it. We showed it to the manager upon arrival and expressed our concerns (see bed depicted in the photos). The fold out bed in this room was just as bad. My sister-in-law swears there were bed bugs in her room's bed and states she was biten all night long. The house is situated on a major street with a truck turn around immediately in front of the house. Since my husband and I were in the Avenue Suite it was loudest for us. Between the trucks and police (again in front of the house) engaging in activity all night long, we didn't get any sleep. We also felt very unsafe here. This is the WORST night I have ever spent away from home. We were suppose to stay a couple nights, but by the next morning we were all angry and checked out. We then had to rent taxis to transport us to a hotel several miles away. The manager was understanding and discounted our stay, but also stated this had never happened. I found that impossible to believe. Don't stay here, you will regret it.
