Nice condo - little off the beaten path

Our first trip to Miami - three single women looking for fun in the sun, clubs, fun and people watchin in South Beach. The property is really beautiful, and the condo was quite nice. Perfect for couples getaway, not for someone trying to be 'in the mix.' Very safe, clean and nice property. Views of the bay and pool are amazing. A little further from all the action than we anticipated.. not walking distance at all, but cabs are always at the ready.
Property was pretty well maintained, would have been nice to have an iPod docking station and wireless internet. Owner was very accessible and accommodating - nice person! Plenty of linens and beds were very comfortable. There is a CVS pharmacy at Alton & 17th..one block up and two blocks over. Make sure you stock up on water, snacks, etc for the kitchen.. not alot of decent food walking distance. and remember your toiletries, unlike hotels, no lotion, soap, shampoo, etc. Only real inconvenience was property owner wants payment in cash upfront - really should have credit card service.
Don't miss Wet Willy's for local watering hole and people watching cruising the strip.. GREAT restuarants, cigar bars & pubs down there. If you go to the beach, go to the Marriott between 3rd & 5th - you can rent an umbrella and lounge chairs for $10 each.. way more convenient than lugging all that crap to the beach. And don't be surprised to see topless bathing.. quite european! :-)
if you plan on going to the clubs, plan on waiting in line forever and spending money! clubs hold lines until midnight/sometimes 1 a.m.! door charges $20 - $60 for women & twice that for men. if you want to 'skip the line' and VIIP it, starts at $200 plus bottle service. ouch.. Vegas is better deal by far. But all in all, gotta try Miami once.. bien venidos a Miami..
