Quaint & Eccentric Place with Outstanding Service

My wife and I stayed here the 2nd week of February. We were a bit concerned when the grounds didn't match the website pictures, but the owner relayed to us his misfortune with a fire, the freeze, and the storms of recent years. Our Victorian Cottage was clean, roomy and comfortable. The kitchen facilities allowed us to take many meals there instead of eating out. Service provided by Dennis and Cathy was second to none during our stay. We look forward to seeing the improvements the coming year will bring and plan to stay again next February. There is a coin-op laundry on site which when traveling with carry-on bags only, is a real plus.
Owner's Response: I do appreaciate every ones understanding that I am giving it my all to get the resort back to the way it looked before, And still take care of all thier needs,It has been a tough 6 months loosing my home and part of the rentals,And still need everyones support,As Guest,While I get closer to compleation,This will be the 3rd time I've redone this place in 11 years,And it only gets better every time,Please check us out if you ever get a chance,Your Host,Dennis

Relaxing Vacation

This was the most relaxing vacation we've had in years. The Lakefront cottage we stayed in was clean and well maintained. The view of the lake was great and we enjoyed it while relaxing in the screened in porch. The owner was very helpful and polite and gave us all the information we asked for about sites to visit. We took the short trip to Disney World and found it so nice to have a quiet place to return to after a busy day. We rented a pontoon boat and gots lots of sun and some fish, too. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get away for awhile but still feel like they are staying at a home away from home. We plan to come back every year.

Nice Owner but Not Safe

These rentals are great for people who like to fish and it has a nice lake.

But the description is completely inaccurate and the place is in serious need of maintenance and can be considered dangerous. The price should be a 1/4 of what is currently being charged for these places. The sulfur smell that comes out of the shower will take any reasonable person's breath away.

This property should not be rented out until serious upgrades are made. It is a health hazard.

I had a major fire in June of 2008 that had taken out a mobile home and my personal residence,due to a lightning surge. the Victorian cottage was not damaged .but I was to busy doing fire clean up to rent it.And it sat empty for 3 months.I decieded to rent it while still working on the clean up,Letting people no the situation. The water just needed to run for a few minutes because of sitting for 3 months, and the 250 foot Artisian Well has no problems. Everyone's stay is important to me. If there is a problem I will make it right.Truly, Dennis (owner)
