There are subways located just blocks away on 135th Street that will take you directly to Times Square in 20-25 minutes. If you are looking for a more scenic route, get on the bus on nearby Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd which will take you down Fifth Avenue, along Central Park, past all the wonderful midtown department stores and right to 42nd Street/Times Square. LaGuardia airport is approximately twenty minutes by cab; JFK is only a $55 taxi ride away.

Many subway lines run 24 hours/day, and will take you to the great sightseeing locations! Take the B train from 135th Street to 96th Street and Central Park West; 34th Street and the Empire State Building or Macy’s, the world’s largest department store; or West 4th Street/Washington Square Park in historic Greenwich Village and the heart of NYU. Take the C train from 135th Street all the way to world famous Chinatown & Little Italy; or get off on 23rd Street/8th Avenue & visit Chelsea’s world-renowned art galleries. Take the C train down to 42nd Street and venture down this famous street past Times Square, the theaters of Broadway, Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building & all the way to the United Nations, where world affairs are being negotiated! This apartment was great. It had everything we needed from bedding to utensils. The cupboards were filled with adequate dishes, glasses, mugs, cutlery pots and pans and even some food supplies. Sleeping accommodations were good with lots of bedding and extra blankets. The apartment was neat, clean and looked after. The kitchen was a bit on the small side for a large family but other than that it was good. The only real downfall to this apartment, if you could call it a downfall, was the noise. For those who like to lay in bed and have a good sleep in, the activity on the street might be a problem. The cost was also very good. It fit in quite nicely with our budget and saved us a bundle on hotels. We were able to stay in NY longer than if we had had to pay money each night for a hotel. There weren't a great number of places to eat in the area, but for us that was not a problem as most of our time was spent sightseeing. I would recommend this place o others looking for a nice, clean, well serviced place to hang out while in NY.

Larry's apartment is clean and spacious. My family and I used the kitchen a lot. Everything you could imagine needing is in the apartment. The only thing we would have added was a clock to the master bedroom. Larry was very helpful, and answered all our questions. I felt very safe and comfortable. New Yorkers as a whole are very friendly, helpful people. There are lots of food flyers at Larry's so you can even order in from lots of local places. The subway is only a five minute walk away and will take you everywhere you could imagine wanting to go. It did take us a couple of days to figure it out! We did walk and ride in circles a few times. The apartment can be a little loud at times, but New York is always loud! Harlem is so beautiful and has so much history. I totally recommend doing the hop on hop off bus tours. They are great transportation, and you learn about a lot of New York's history, trendy spots, and beautiful architecture, It was beautiful while we were there, but we didn't take advantage of the bbq or the backyard. It is also set up with chairs and a table. I will be returning to New York and renting from Larry again. I think that everyone should go to New York at least once before they die!

Location is good to get around from and safe. The flat is comfortable and as advertised. The owner is honest and understanding. I would stay there again.
