This gorgeous zen-like one-story home has all the cosmic bells and whistles and then some. The home has a big ocean view filled with blue, a lovely tiled lanai from which to watch the sunrise, a gorgeous blue-tiled saline (no chemicals) pool, hot tub, huge spa-like bathtub, two walk-in showers with dual heads, gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and custom cabinets, three car-garage (in which to practice your hula!) and an extra “retreat” style bedroom off of the patio. The property is wheelchair friendly (please contact us to discuss acessibility issues before booking). The house is notable for its unique asian/polynesian architecture, its wonderful spirit, and its sense of privacy, peace and joyous tranquility. Hale Lavalava is situated on a fully landscaped half-acre with an impossibly bright green lawn flanked by a large, shimmering black lava formation, created by nature hundreds of years ago. You will leave revitalized, inspired and refreshed.

Great Home

This is a wonderful home. It is very clean and nicely decorated. It felt like home when we arrived. Very private yard area where the pool is and the front lanai for sitting and watching the sunrise. It has a very beautiful view. It was the perfect honeymoon location. The owner is great to work with and very responsive to your needs. I would highly recommend this home. We can't wait to go back!! It was so hard to leave that little piece of paradise.
Owner's Response: Hale Lavalava is a very romantic spot and I am so happy this wonderful couple chose it as a starting point for their new life together. You really do feel like you are in a different world at Hale Lavalava. It is especially well suited for honeymooners who want to spend their honeymoon together, and not with the crowds on Waikiki.

Awesome Stay at HaleLavaLava - Wonderful Home

This "home away from home" is little piece of heaven. The home is as beautiful and mystic as the owner describes....and then some. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this side of the island and HaleLavaLava had alot to do with that. Our time in the house was as tranquil and lovely as could be....watching the sunrise over the ocean in the morning on the front lanai (or taking a short walk to the ocean's edge or through the quiet neighborhood), swimming and soaking in the absolutely awesome pool and hot tub, relaxing in the open and inviting living room as we reviewed our plans for the day or once returning from a day of activities (with views of the ocean never out of your site through the double glass doors). This home has the aloha spirit of Hawaii which you feel as soon as you enter - We could not have asked for anything better.

The home is immaculate and well-maintained, decorated lovely, and has all the amenities as described. The owner was a delight to work with. Once booked, he will supply you with a very thoughtful "booklet" of things he recommends to do and sites to see - we referred to it daily. We hated to leave and hope to return one day.

Thank you so much.

My husband and I wanted a relaxing peaceful vacation and we certainly got it.

This house is not only gorgeous but it was impeccably clean.
After a day of running around in Hilo it was a pleasure to come home to a swim and jacuzzi.
We had excellent communication with the owner of the house and would definitely stay there again.
I would recommend and have recommended this house to my friends and family. It was paradise.
We loved to walk on the pathway near the house every morning. also nice to drive a bit to Pahoa & Puna.

We stayed Hale Lavalava recently. Beautiful home. Photos do not do the home justice! Wonderful views of the ocean from the front porch. Private back with wonderful pool and hot tub. Far more relaxing than a hotel or a condo! We truly enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Hale Lavalava was fabulous in every way. Not only are the house and grounds much nicer than most vacation rentals, but that gorgeous ocean view from the lanai--I gazed out at it every morning while having my Kona coffee. Loved the salt water pool too, in which I swam every afternoon. This house is perfect if you want to hang out and feel like you're at a resort or as a great base from which to explore the Big Island. I've told friends and I'll definitely go back--every year!
