The Hideaway Beach Cottage is just feet from secluded beach and safe swimming. The cottage is situated in the s.w. corner of Hideaway Bahamas, very quiet and private. Only two other homes in 5 acres. Ideal for those that are seeking a back to nature hideaway, or romantic Honeymoon or simply to get away from it all. Just lay back and relax, and take in the aquatic panoramic view over the two reefs which offer great scuba diving and snorkeling. Also see the 3 blue holes (underwater caves). Laze in the warm azure seas, then as evening falls sip a cocktail while watching stunning sunsets. Walk the beach in either direction for miles and collect those shells and other objects that catch your eye. You may not even see a human on these walks just the quiet sway of the trees, the sound of the ocean, birds and fish swimming along in the shallow waters. Notes: The cottage is a wonderful place for those wanting privacy and seclusion. The cottage is set in 5 acres adjacent to the beach. There is only 3 properties on the 5 acres, all are very secluded and away from each other. Safe swimming and snorkelling. There are a couple of local beach bars within 3 miles. Also a local take away and convenience store. Yet you are still only a 30 min drive to town on straight roads for evening entertainment, resturants, bars and the casino.

Take your line and fish from the beach, then grill up your catch and dine under the stars. Watch the sunsets which are often quite stunning. If you want the nightlife of Port Lucaya it is only a 25 minutes drive away with many resturants, pubs, and most evenings music in Count Basie Square, a great evening out, also the Casino and several International Restuarants in the Our Lucaya complex. Freeport boasts several championship golf courses and duty free shopping.

Most relaxing vacation

From the size of the "cottage" to the hospitality shown by the owners, it was the most relaxing vacation I've taken in years. The home was large, warm and inviting (especially the bottle of wine left for us upon arrival!) and the beach was literally steps away from the back yard. The sound of the surf just yards away assure a restful sleep and a peaceful calm to those fortunate enough to stay here. Liz and John were there to make sure our stay was comfortable, and to see that we had whatever it was we needed or wanted. You couldn't ask for more when looking for a quiet, secluded place to recharge your batteries. We will return...........
Owner's Response: Its always a pleasure to welcome our guests and answer their questions personally whenever possible. Not only did these clients make friends with us, but they also got on so well with the locals who found them fresh fish and guided them to other attractions, local restaurants and bars.

We wanted RELAXING and WE GOT IT!

My husband and I wanted to get away from it all for our 20th anniversary, and boy did we. Liz showed us around and made us feel at home. The house was literally 25 yds from the beach. We kayaked, laid on rafts and snorkeled out at the "blue holes". (bring your own snorkel stuff though) They were breathtaking. Loved the little lizards running around, harmless. The king size bed was great, no back pain! We had dinner at the "bar in the round" at Bishop's (very local) beach bar. Go to Doris' (down home cooking) next door to Bishop's for the delicious conch fritters! Watch the crab salad, spicy! If you want dinners out you have to drive to Lucaya. About 35 min through nature. Highly recommend Agave restaurant there. GREAT mojito's. We'd go back again! Enjoy!

As described a totally relaxing experience

We loved the drive from Freeport along a qiet but good road. The people were all very friendly. Saw very few on the beach or surrounding area. Perfect getaway. You enter Hideaway Bahamas from the Grand Baham Highway and the young lady there is very obliging and you they provide free internethave free wireless internet. THen drive over the hill, just 2 homes so fay completed and all laid out with Palm trees and beach coves. The hideaway cottage is set in the far right western corner. Very secluded and away from everything. We loved to hear the water as we dozed. slept like babies and fed very well at the local beach bars and takeaways.Thjis Eastern side of Grand Bahama has something that draws one to stay. We are already contemplating our return. The owners are now our friends and we really do recommend this if you like us prefer to be away from the crowd and when we look at the photos of the Great room where we spent many happy hours. The outdoors is just the best. We found the three blue holes and walked the beaches and discovered the many patches of water coming up through the sands from the giant fresh water aquifier.Yes we recommend the property, yes it is accurately described and very adequate for our needs.
Owner's Response: We have many inquiries and repeat visitors to the Hideaway cottage.
We are pretty well booked up till Easter and expect new bookings for April May onwards and then the summmer and the many returning families.
The Beach cottage is quite seperate and secluded on the South West corner of the property and close to the ocean.To the west is a large Sandy beach and you can almost walk the short distance in the water to a large section of blue holes and underground caves. Perfect for snorkellin or for casting a line to fronm the shore. Grand Bahama is on a giant aquifier. we are self sufficient with the finest quality drinking water.

Snapper and grouperand many native fish are in abundance aklso lobster and conch..

We added 2 homes to the Eastern side and one will go into the rental pool. They are spaced out and you can wonder the beaches and not see a sole.
Imagine having the beach to yourself for as far as you can see. Oh yes safe also to walk anywhere and not worry.
We do hope you will stay with us soon.
