Puerto Viejo holiday house

First off, I don't usually leave feedback, but this trip warranted a plug. So just returned from my Costa Rica/Panama and while I experienced an amazing country, epic surfing, beautiful sights, great people, and unique cuisine, I do have to say the highlight of my trip was staying at the Pina Grande at Cocoa Hills in Playa Cocles. This home was absolutely stunning! Not only was it in a tranquil, safe location, the home was beautifully decorated with stellar wood and tile work troughout the house along with every amenity one needs. I was able to walk to the beach in a little over 5 min and even better was great corner store and a fantastic restaurant with wood stoves and wonderful food (la terrazza I believe) all within 5 min of walking. While I rented a car and traveling to Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo was easy, one could certainly rent a cheap bike and make it to town in less than a 20 min ride. The description and even pictures do not do "Pina Grande" justice. We were greeted by the caretaker upon arrival and provided us a tour and friendly advice. The home was super clean and provided my friends and I relaxation and a set of wonderful memories! We were able to cook several meals utilizing the full kitchen and cookware, and felt comfortable leaving our belongings while venturing across Costa. Bedrooms are screened in against bugs with great fans. I took several naps in the multiple hamocks and lounged in the comfortable furniture. The surrounding jungle grounds were gorgeous having the sounds of creatures and monkeys echoing in the background. While we did not have hot water, (I think it was just forgot to be turned on) we didn't need it as a cool (not cold) shower felt more refreshing after a humid and hot day. Not only do I whole heartedly recommend this home for a rental, I am already planning my next trip to return in a couple months! My entire experience from the beginning contact with the owner and most definitely my stay have been an absolute joy. Don't cheat yourself this amazing experience and wonderful home personifying the "Pura Vida"!
