Not just another apartment: Your air-conditioned, amazingly quiet and good size guest bedroom in my sunny 2br Manhattan apartment is in best Upper Westside location (81st St./Amsterdam Ave.): Central Park and Hudson river just a few minutes walk,10 min to Times Sq with subways 1/2 or B/C, restaurants/shopping/Museum of Natural History - all close by. Good size double bed with clean linens for you of course, FREE phone to Europe (and any number in the U.S.), premium cable/HBO high speed wireless internet, full kitchen and large comfy living room with large flat screen TV. office supplies (printer, phone, desk in bedroom, ...) FREE extras: FREE passes to close by gym, 15% restaurant discount at Planet Sushi, and local tips for your New York experience from me... None of my personal stuff is in LR/kitchen or your guest bed room. I'm in the other bedroom at the other end of the apartment, but leave the apt early in the morning, so you have all the space to yourself

The lower Upperwestside offers quick access to: restaurants, some live music, bars, shopping, Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Hudson River bars ... all within a few steps from the apartment. Subways 1,2,B,C and 79th St crosstown bus take you to midtown, Times Square etc. in a matter of minutes. During the day you see lots of families with kids shopping and going to Central Park, in the evening you can join a mixed crowd in bars and restaurants on Amsterdam Ave.

Great location,
2 blocks from Central Park, close to subway (2 stations), quiet neighborhood, Nice bars and restaurants one street away and on the top of that a very friendly landlord!

A great experience

We just spent a week in this lovely property. Everything was just as described, the apartment was exceptionally clean, Tim was the perfect host. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about New York and gave us good tips and suggestions on things to do, places to eat, how to get around, etc.
The location is superb, just a short walk to Central Park on the one side and Riverside Park on the other. Restaurants and shops are also very near by, as are 3 subway lines (Be sure to get a $25 weekly Metro pass if you are staying more than a few days!).
I can definitely recommend this property for 2 or 3, and I think it would also work for 4, as long as you aren't particularly tall or big. (The bed and sofa are full-sized as described. At 6 ft 2 in I'm actually accustomed to a queen-sized bed.)

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

Location excellent for every place to visit on bus lines and subway. apartment large and spacious and well supplied with tourist info, wireless internet, linens, tv and cable channels etc. within 5 minutes walking are markets, restaurants, and fun places to go, especially the natural history museum. tim is a wonderful host, and full of helpful information if you are new to new york. it was a very wonderful place to come home to after a busy day in the city. my husband and i would highly recommend this place for a weekend trip, up to much longer times. we stayed 8 days. great!

What a find!

The apartment and the landlord lived up to expectations and everything was in keeping with the holiday rental advert. You never know what you'll find with a rental but this is the real deal. The landlord is friendly and welcoming. The property was in good condition and clean. It was in a good neighbourhood, extremely quiet (no honking or church bells), we could even hear the birds in the morning. The room was very private and was away from the Landlord's room. We couldn't believe how close the subway and Central Park were - just a couple of blocks away. There were shops and restaurants around the corner which was really handy. We just wish we could have stayed longer!
Our only criticism is the lack of a kettle as we do like a cup of tea in the morning. I'm sure the Landlord will be getting one soon.
We would definitely recommend this property.

Eine echte Entdeckung! Die Wohnung ist schoen und hell und vor allem ruhig, obwohl die Lage sehr zentral ist. Nur 2 Blocks zur Subway und zum Central Park. Viele Geschaefte, Cafes und Restaurants direkt um die Ecke. Eine sehr schoene und sichere Wohngegend. Unser Zimmer hatte genug Platz um sich einzurichten und unsere Sachen inclusive dem Ergebnis diverser Shopping-Touren unterzubringen. Tim ist ein super Vermieter, kuemmert sich um alles und hat jede Menge Tipps fuer alle, die noch nie in der Stadt waren aber auch fuer alle, die die Stadt schon kennen. Es hat uns grossen Spass gemacht! Wenn wir das naechste Mal nach New York kommen hoffen wir sehr, dass Tim einen Platz fuer uns frei hat. Wir kommen wieder!"
