OCEAN & BAY VIEW ON THE WATER The waters of the Hawaiian Islands' largest bay, Kaneohe Bay,come into the back yard of the Red Ginger. The Ko'olau Mountains form a backdrop for the bay. Enjoy a full 180-degree view of the water and mountains from the lanai, living room and master bedroom--1500 sq. ft. of living space KAILUA BEACH, a 3-mile long, white sand beach on Oahu's east coast, is just a 7 min. drive from the house. Great for swimmers of all ages. Use our coolers, chairs, boogie boards. KAYAK and swim in the warm waters of the sparkling sea which comes into our lush tropical back yard. Paddle out to Coconut Island where Gilligan's Island was filmed. The bay is only knee to waist deep around the shoreline. TRANQUILITY Awaken to the sound of doves cooing and the wind rustling through the coconut palm trees. Enjoy the bright blue sea and the deep green of the towering mountains where Jurassic Park was filmed. Enjoy the serenity of nature.

Kaneohe Bay is the Hawaiian Islands' largest bay. It is framed by the soaring Ko'olau Mountains where Jurassic Park was filmed. Seven minutes by car is the #1 beach in the country, Kailua Beach. A great beach for swimming, kayaking, wind surfing and kite surfing. Also a great walking beach with 3 miles of white sand. Also, some of the best golf in the country is 10 min. by car from the house. More than you can see and do, even in a month!

WATERFRONT: Kayak, swim, snorkel and fish from our back yard. Enjoy a full 180-degree view of the water and the soaring Ko'olau mountains. Kayak out to Coconut Island where the t.v. show, Gilligan's Island was filmed. The water around the shoreline is only knee to waist deep and you can see the ocean floor and all the sea life. Enjoy early morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets over the mountains. The photos you see on this site were taken from the home's lanais and from the back yard of the house.

BEACHES: The country's best beach, the 3 mile long white sand Kailua Beach is just a 7 minute drive from the house. We provide all of the beach equipment you might need. This is a great beach for swimmers of all ages, as well as for kayakers, windsurfers, and kite surfers. Enjoy an early morning stroll to watch the sun rise or an evening stroll to see the full moon rise over the horizon.

TRANQUILITY: Awaken to the cooing of doves and the rustle of the wind in the coconut palms and the bamboo grove. Relax on the lanai and enjoy the serentiy that nature provides. Located near 3 major 'highways' makes the airport, Pearl Harbor, Honolulu and Waikiki just a 20-25 minute drive from the house.

My husband, son, and I just returned a couple of weeks ago from a 10-day stay at Red Ginger in Kaneohe. This was our first time staying outside of Waikiki and it was FABULOUS! The Red Ginger suite was open, airy, and have everything needed for a comfortable stay! Harriet (the owner) was wonderful to work with and had wonderful suggestions for activities and dining! All beach toys were provided, along with towels, chairs, etc. so all we had to do was show up to paradise! I highly recommend this area for those looking for a different Hawaii experience from the overpriced hotels and restaurants of Waikiki.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
