Flagler Beach holiday house

Vacationing with three teenagers, we were pleasantly surprised to have them declare this as our best family vacation ever! "Life's a Beach" was everything we had hoped for, and more, at a most reasonable price. The dolphins swam by to greet us on our arrival, and returned often during the week. This clean, comfortable beach house has everything you need for your stay, including the hot tub, boogie boards,and bicycles; the third bathroom was a big plus for our family of five. We even found an electric juice-maker in the fully-equipped kitchen for the lemons and limes we bought at the weekly farmers' market in the town square. It is an easy half-mile walk or bike ride to the downtown area, with its shops, dining, and the landmark A-framed 800-foot fishing pier. The owners live near there and make you feel more like their guests than renters-- we actually met Carol and Jeff in town without knowing they were the owners of the house we had rented. Flagler Beach is a small, Old Florida beach town that hasn't fallen prey to commercialism, yet has something for everyone of all ages-- a great beach with clean sand, robust waves, and sparkling blue water; fishing, surfing, dolphin-watching, parks and nature trails, fine and casual dining, shopping, and only a short drive to attractions in Orlando, Cape Kennedy, Daytona Beach, and St. Augustine, The Marineland Dolphin Conservation Center, just ten miles to the north, is a must-see. Life's A Beach is a wonderful place to relax. There are so many things that we love about this vacation spot. Afternoons on the porch with a good book, late evening walks along the beach, morning swims and catching some rays. If you are up early, some mornings you can enjoy watching the dolphins play. We have watched them from the front porch on two occasions. Immediate access to the beach is a plus for us because whether you want to surf, fish, swim, walk, jog or just enjoy a good book, you are there with your beach chair. Turtle Shack has wonderful seafood. The ice cream shop at the pier is terrific. My children crave the Java Hut and the wonderful mocha's. You are a short drive to terrific shopping and dining at St. Augustine (a must see). Matanzas Inlet is a beautiful place where you can drive on the beach and take a picnic for the day. It is a favorite place to enjoy the water because you have the waves on one side and the bay/canal on the other. There is also alot of history there if you enjoy exploring. Our usual stay is 10 days or more because we don't want to miss the sights but we also just enjoy a quiet night at home occasionally where we grill steaks and ribs and make some homemade ice cream and enjoy playing games with the children and hit the hot tub to top it all off. We have been treated well at Life's A Beach and plan to come every year.
