Fort Myers Beach holiday condo

This property was a nicely sized and laid out apartment for a family. We were 7 people, which I would say is enough. It was equipped with lots of towels, blankets, and supplies. Having a half bath on the main floor with the laundry was perfect. It could have been a bit cleaner, but I think the fault there was with the housekeeping staff. The vacuum cleaner in the unit was not working properly, and needs attention. We had a problem with a toilet and the owner took care of the problem immediately, sending someone over to fix it. The unit also lacks a DVD player and we were only able to get spotty Wifi connections. The grounds are lovely and have many interesting things to do right there such as the Marina, the beach and a top notch, HEATED, pool. Our relatives, staying next door used our pool exclusively with us because theirs was not heated and was very cold. The grounds have four grilling areas and decks, so it was very accommodating for us. It was nice that we were at the end of the island that is away from the congested downtown area. The shelling was the best at this end and it was quiet and safe feeling. We enjoyed the Lover's Key State Park, which is very close by.
So, in general, I would recommend it, but in order to keep it competitive with some of the newer places nearby, I would tell the owner to consider some updates and freshening up ideas in the kitchen and bathrooms which are showing their age in the cabinets and fixtures.

We stayed at Jackie's Other Place/ Santa Maria Resort/ Ft. Myers Beach, FL in January 2009. We were a party of four/ 2 adult couples. I can't tell you enough how nice our accomodations were. We had two nice bedrooms in the upstairs both with private bathrooms! The privacy was awesome. We had so much space! It would also be great for a family. The downstairs was very spacious with nice little added "touches" everywhere. The laundry room also had a half bath...the kitchen was stocked very well...the living room was so comfortable! There was a really nice dining room/ table which we didn't use..all of our meals were in the screened patio room. We loved the extra storage rooms with books, toys, lawn beach chairs, fishing poles, beach toys, coolers, etc. The facility was great too. Very, very clean. The pool was really nice and huge! The two whirlpools were great in the evenings! We also enjoyed the gazebo's with really nice gas grills and tables/chairs! It was not difficult to get to the beach..just across the street. The shopping strip mall was very close to walk to...it had everything you'd need. Post office and nice drug store was also just steps away. We enjoyed our week so much....There was not one thing we wished for....Did I mention the resort is also secure with updated security? We also had a reserved parking spot....Try it out...you won't be sorry! Laurie from Wisconsin
