Welcome to Hacienda Las Trancas. This huge, old ex-hacienda midway between San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, is situated outside Dolores Hidalgo in a small, safe, friendly village. Once a presidio, or fort, along the silver trail in 1567, it became a hacienda in the 1700's. Walls are meter-thick adobe. This property is beautiful with rustic elegance and is furnished with colonial antiques and local artisan pieces. It is also private, fully staffed, and includes cooks, maids, gardeners, stable and pool personnel, and massage therapists. The hacienda is approximately 50 rooms, more than 40,000 square feet under roof, with ten walled-in private acres. There is a pool heated with a dozen solar panels to assure year-round comfort, plus jacuzzi. There are also lovely gardens and enormous porches. The accommodations include luxurious bedding with high thread-count linens, feather beds and down duvets. All meals, plus use of horses, private cybex gym, and mountain bikes are included.

This is an ideal location for visiting a different colonial town each day, or simply enjoying the best of Mexico's Bajio region. Shop for beautiful Talavera pottery in Dolores Hidalgo, or for everything in San Miguel, while you enjoy gourmet restaurants, hot springs, and golf. Wander the charming streets and cobbled alleys of Guanajuato. Practice your soccer skills on our soccer field, play ping pong, or challenge the locals to a game of volleyball on our private sand court. Spend a few hours horse-back riding down to the river, where you may see eagles. All meals, Horses, 17-piece Cybex exercise room and mountain bikes are included with your rental.

Spa services are now available on site. A chauffeur is available for a reasonable fee, as is a very knowledgeable bilingual guide for trail rides (horse, car or mountain bike), and seeing historic silver trail locations that most tourists never see. Full-time staff of 18, plus 6 massage therapists. Please see our website for more information. We are not a hotel. When you rent the hacienda, it is yours for the week. This is obviously not your average vacation rental. Why rent a house when you can rent an entire hacienda! Our guests are delighted and amazed with their vacation experiences here.
