The beautiful coast of Maremma has made the area of Grosseto particularly attractive during spring and summer while in late autumn and winter it remains a wonderful place for combining cultural experiences and outdoor activities in nature with the charm of the Tuscan way of life. It is the ideal strategic home base for many exciting day trips. Rome, Pisa, and Florence are reachable by car or by train in 2 hours. Sienna is only 45 minutes away. Also nearby are spectacular archaeological sites such as Roselle and Vetulonia, while from port towns such as Castiglione della Pescaia and Port Ercole ferry boats run daily to and from the islands of Giglio, Giannutri, and Elba. Smaller jewels of the Tuscan region such as Manciano and Pitigliano offer traditional and exquisite exposure to Tuscany’s medieval history. The healing thermal baths of Saturnia and Viterbo are a great way to unwind, and, of course, the Tuscan wineries where you can taste the excellent wines of Morellino di Scansano
The Farmhouse:
A Tuscan style farmhouse with daily modern conveniences. Composed of a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, a bath with shower, and a kitchen/dining room area. Amenities include a TV, a washing machine, an iron, an ironing board, and kitchen wear.
