Notes: Amenities: Our home features privacy, peace and quiet. It has all of the standard appliances plus central air conditioning, ceiling fans, fireplace, color TV with cable service, VCR, and DVD player. Crib, high chair, bikes, etc. may be rented from local dealers only a few minutes walk from our home or delivered. Beach chairs and umbrellas are readily available for rent or purchase within walking distance. Boats may be rented or chartered at the marina just across the road from Sunset Captiva – on the Intracoastal waterway. A dock slip may be available at no charge by pre-arrangement. Activities: Swimming, boating, surf fishing, charter fishing, deep sea fishing, sailing & sailing lessons, sightseeing and dinner cruises, water skiing, jet skiing, parasailing, kayaking, & guided kayak nature tours, snorkeling, shelling, tennis, biking, shopping, and dining. Public golf courses are available on nearby Sanibel Island.

Best house we have ever rented!

This was the best experience I have ever had renting a vacation house. The house is perfect for a family with children, close to the beach and just in super shape. The town is the next street over, the beach is a short 5 minute (if that) walk and the pool and tennis courts right across the way. The owner is very responsive and the rental agency helpful. In short-we LOVED captiva. We left 2 chairs, an umbrella, a boogie board and a 'noodle' for you to enjoy. We rented kayaks from Jensen's (who gave us an hour lesson for free); visited the everglades (take the boat trip from the park dock) and had many fish and chip dinners from the Murky Duck.

You simply can't go wrong here and I hope you have as much fun as we did.

A wonderful vacation

The home was lovely. It was filled with light, comfortable, and very close to the beach and pool. It was clean had all the amenities that are needed. It was within walking distance of wonderful restaurants (The Green Flash was my favorite restaurant) as well as a small market. We went kayaking, saw beautiful bird life and went on a boat to see dolphins. There are also bike trails near the bird refuge. The owner was very helpful prior to visiting Captiva and very kind when I forgot my directions while at the airport. One recommendation depending on when you are traveling is to check if it is high season for Stingrays to come close to shore. If so shuffle your feet to scare them away. I hope to be able to visit again.
