Beautiful and sunny furnished two bedroom apartment on Riverside Drive in Washington Heights, NYC. Residential family friendly block. Second floor unit of private Brownstone building with approximately 900 sq ft. This apartment sleeps 4 adults and two children comfortably. Full kitchen features a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and all cooking necessities. Very convenient location - 3 blocks from train and bus. We are 2 blocks from the west side highway. We are 15-30 minutes to midtown by taxi or train. Street parking is available, however it is subject to city parking regulations. During summer months AC units are available at no additional charge. Laundry service is available for an additional charge. We offer hi-speed wireless internet and phone service at no additional charge. Each door in the building is key less and a unique time sensitive code will be given to all guests during their stay.

New Year's in NYC

My girlfriends and I had an excellent stay here! I travel often and have used vrbo on other occasions, and this one is a definite plus!! The apartment was VERY clean, spacious, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities. The internet was helpful; we found several places of interest on there and found subway directions to everywhere. The station is a short walk away, and we were able to get to Times Square within 20 minutes.

We didn't eat around the area, but did make a couple of trips to the neighborhood market and found all we needed . Jeff had starter items for our meals (thanks!) and even provided several take-out menus for his favorite places. He called to welcome us and made himself available for any questions we had.

All in all, we totally enjoyed our time here at the Riverside Retreat and would love to stay here again....definitely our home away from home. (If I have to say something negative, is that perhaps it was TOO COMFY....it made it hard for us to leave the apartment and go sightseeing!)

Perfect place for us

Our family had an excellent stay here in August 2009.
Admittedly, I was skeptical about renting an apartment, but thanks to my wife's cajoling, agreed to give it a try. We couldn't have been happier, and certainly it was more enjoyable than staying in a dull hotel.
The area is safe and enjoyable to walk around, with families out and about in the hot evenings.
The apartment was very clean and more than enough space for the four of us — we have two teenagers. With the wireless internet and two TVs, everybody could do what they wanted when we needed some "down time". The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was great for making meals.
The location was perfect for us to go anywhere we wanted on the subway, which is so close to walk to. It also has food markets that are easily accessible.
Jeff and his family were very helpful. First, we arrived in the hot and humid weather to a fridge with fresh fruit, some food supplies, plus a bucket of beer — a very nice and appreciated touch. Then they provided an extra fan when Jeff's sister didn't believe the TWO air conditioners in the apartment would keep the second bedroom cool enough. They were also willing to lend a printer when we needed to print off Yankees tickets (Go Blue Jays! The Jays won 5-4).
Our Family had a great time in New York City, and it was wonderful to have a place to call "home" when we needed to get away from all the hustle and bustle.

Great place for families

We came with an infant and a 2yr so we needed a place where our "hotel" was a place we could hang out it. The apartment was big enough for our family and for our 2 yr old to run around in. It was clean and very comfortable. Internet worked great. Easy to get to subway and also to visit with our friends living in Washinton Heights and Inwood.

NYC visit

We stayed 4 nites in Riverside Resort and were very pleased with our experience. My mother was with us and our activities somewhat limited. Staying in an apartment allowed us to have downtime without going crazy. We appreciated the internet connection and Jeff's concern that we have a good experience. He checked in with us upon our arrival and was available for questions. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was quiet. We traveled by subway, which was convenient. We used car services when leaving from Riverside as cabs weren't readily available.

Jeff was very kind to stock the kitchen with some breakfast supplies as we arrived late at night. The supplies really helped us over the next several days.

I definitely recommend it as an affordable, pleasant stay in NYC.

This was our first time booking with VRBO and although skeptical at first, -this property definitely delivered on its promise to provide a great space for a moderate value. The property was about a block and a half to the NYC Subway, plenty of hole-in-the wall Caribbean/Spanish places to lunch at (the most delicious and least expensive food in NYC for sure!). The area felt very safe, the hardwood floors inside were a definite plus, comfortable beds, - as was the flat screen TV (with cable). The property owner was easily accessible via telephone. The only two quirks about the place was that the 2nd bedroom really didn't have closet space and the wireless internet was not reliable and slow (so don't count on it for blogging needs) - although the flat screen has stable internet. All and all, -excellent property, easily accessible, lots of food eateries around, 15-minutes to Times Square - would definitely book again!
