Our home is located on the Sea of Cortez, just 60 minutes from Hermosillo, MX and 5 hours south of Tucson, AZ. Casa Encantada is in a quiet fishing village on the beautiful Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California). The beach is one of the most beautiful in all of Mexico. Many times you can look for miles each way and you'll be the only one on the beach. It is a perfect spot to leave your cares behind and relax with a good book, or just soak up the sunshine. Finish the day by eating delicious seafood and watching the sunset.

If you like white sand and gentle surf, Kino Bay is the perfect vacation getaway. Old Kino is a quiet, laid-back fishing village, and New Kino consists of numerous bungalows dotted along the one main thoroughfare that follows the 7 miles of beach. Many English-speaking inhabitants join Club Deportivo, a sports and social club. The fishing is fabulous. When out on the water, check in with Rescue One, the only volunteer, English-speaking radio communication in Mexico.

Notes: Kino Bay is a delightful combination of tropical beach environment with nearby desert and mountain views. The village of Kino Viejo is a small, vibrant community with lots of local fishing and wonderful small restaurants. People are known for their friendliness. The casual atmosphere in Kino is relaxed and lends itself best to hiking, walks on the beach, fishing and swimming, reading and relaxing. It's perfect for families, artists and writers, nature lovers, and people who like to experience Mexican culture and have a good time! Local vendors feature everything from collector quality Seri baskets to ironwood carvings, colorful ceramics, handmade hammocks, and jewelry. The food is excellent, especially seafood. Casa Tortuga is within walking distance of some very good restaurants, and we are surrounded by friendly neighbors.

Golf: Club Deportivo is an association of American and Canadia homeowners and RVers who meet for Social Hour on Friday nights, get together for sporting events like golf, fishing, Baccho, miniature golf, hosted dinners and breakfasts. Although the primitive golf course in the desert is nothing like the courses one finds in the States, both golf pros and novices have fun competing.
