Ambleside, As our home is known as was built in 1931 by renowned architect Gerard Betts, who designed City Hall, the Post Office , High School and many prestigious homes in our area. He was inspired by the wonderful Tudors seen on his many trips to England's Lake country. While walking through the town of Ambleside he was taken by one particular house and decided to recreate it here in the beautiful Hudson Valley where he lived. Thus the name Ambleside. It is a shining example of the Tudor Style and is beautifully decorated as an English country house should be. Staying here you feel as though you have been transported to another place, a place to relax and unwind.
