East Machias holiday

our family stayed at the cabin for a week in the beginning of august of 2009. the location is key for kids, pets and if your looking for quiet! there are only 2 other houses that are nearby, but they are so distant that we didnt even notice them. we have 3 dogs that never left the area because they didnt have anything/anyone to chase or bark at! the beach area was perfect...even though the lake's water levels were way high and we only got a portion of the beach area that is displayed in the photos. the camp is very rustic and comfortable. the pictures need to be update some, because they must have remodeled the kitchen and painted the outside because they look completely different than the photos on the site. we slept 6 easily with room for more if needed. the owner was very nice and checked up on us to see if we needed anything. the cabin is also very close to machias to go food shopping, go out to dinner, etc. the owner also provided bottles of water, which was very nice! we brought our boat and was able to beach it right out front of the camp, even thought the owner offered a moring and dock down at a further camp. the lake was beautiful, warm and unspoiled! great for tubing/waterskiing or just cruising around. barely saw another boat out. overall an amazing week and would suggest it to anyone with kids, dogs, big families, and for peacefulness!
