Sunset Paradise is No Paradise

We rented this property for three weeks. It was a disappointment from the first day. We had to buy many cleaning supplies. The windows and deck were filthy. The furniture on the deck was broken and although promised was never replaced. The internet did not work and the ice makers were broken. We had to request towels. One of the '5' bedrooms had no closet and no furniture other than a bed. The other was a loft accessed only thru the master bedroom. We were very patient and tried to work with the owner but our calls were routinely unanswered. The final straw was that she did not return our deposit and refuses to answer our inquiries about the matter. Do yourself a favor don't rent or recommend this house, We wish we hadn't. It certainly wasn't as advertised..
Owner's Response: This renter had family issues that I agreed to work around. The towels she requested were beach towels that are not listed as provided, but I got them for her anyway. All the bedrooms have furniture as shown in the pictures on the sites I advertise on. The cable was repaired upon request by the cable company, Her family left garbage strewed about, broke the shower door, destroyed decorative items, took magic marker to the chair covers, among other things. I have the pictures to prove it and the Orkin pest control bill to erradicate the maggots left behind by the food left out and the mealy bugs and ants that produced. Not to mention a chair meant for indoors was out on the master patio in the elements and was ruined. They did not take care of this property while they were there at all. The deposit does not even cover the damages left behind in their wake, and I have chosen not to go after them for the difference - trying to be nice. For all the owners out there listing properties beware of these renters. My home is advertised as presented. I dont think staying in the Taj Mahal would make them happy.
