Located on the North Shore of the borough of Staten Island and within a few short blocks to all public transportation. Safe, yet very convenient to Lower Manhattan by the free 30 minute ferry that runs every day all day and night. Going to the ferry it is a short walk downhill and on the way back there is a free transfer bus, #42 that stops right in front of the house. The house is landmarked and is located in a Historic district community with many fine old homes, public buildings and churches. The back garden has a wonderful view of the Hudson Harbor with the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building all in sight. Within the village of St. George the neighborhood is quaint and quiet with small markets, pharmacies and liquor stores nearby.

  • By combining two apartments in the same house connected by a staircase, you will have 6 bedrooms, a sleeper sofa in two living rooms, one living room can be closed off for total privacy plus there is a sleeper sofa in the large dinning room. Also in one of the big bedrooms there is a futon for two. This is a very large apartment in a very big Victorian home with 3 full bathrooms. The apartment occupies the second and third floors and has a luxurious kitchen with cherry wood cabinets and a granite counter, it also contains a washer/dryer unit. As a single unit it sleeps 15 comfortably with 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a large kitchen with a washer/dryer unit and a nice large dining room. Please call for details.

With your comfort in mind everything has been selected for the convenience and enjoyment of our guests. We welcome you and hope you will stay at this wonderful and very spacious home located with a view of Manhattan, on the Northern tip of the borough of Staten Island. You will also enjoy: New LED Flat Screen TV, 12,000 BTU A/C, all new appliances, coffee maker for 14 cups, washer/dryer conveniently located in the apartment, all brand new mattresses and linens, plentiful matching fluffy towels, iron and board, microwave, 4 slice toaster, Sony stereo radio, and many more touches and amenities. PLUS there is a fenced in Garden for the use of our guests with a view of the Harbor. The street parking is free 24 hours 7 days a week.

Transportation: The house is only about 40 minutes from LaGuardia and JFK International Airport and 30 minutes form Newark Airport. There is public transportation by bus and then subways to and from the airports.There are also local city buses that stop right in front of the house. The Staten Island Ferry, which is a FREE 30 minute ride to Lower New York City and runs all night, 24/7 is only a three block walk or short bus ride from the house. Enjoy FREE all day/night parking in front of the house! In Lower NYC there are sightseeing buses, city buses and subways to anywhere in all of the five boroughs. There is also the connection to the Statue of Liberty ferry very near to where the Staten Island ferry docks. It is just a quick ride uptown to Grand Central and you can catch the Metro North along the Hudson River Line. Stop and visit quaint Victorian towns, do some antiquing, leaf peeking and explore the village where Hello Dolly was filmed.

We were a group of 12 who gathered for three weeks at Robin's rental property for a family reunion. The facilities and comfort that we got exceeded our expectations. The house is clean, spacious, and very well furnished. Other members of our extended family would visit us during the day and we even had a grand reunion dinner once. We were able to host such a dinner because the kitchen is well equipped with good appliances and crockery. The location and neighborhood are good too. The harbor is a short distance away and the free ferry ride to Manhattan is an added attraction. Robin is a very polite lady and is always willing to please. I recommend this property to both small and big groups.I would love to have another such reunion in this house.

Lovely house, fine location for 11 adults

Firstly, we (a party of 11) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in St Mark’s Square and enjoyed touring NYC, Brooklyn, Patterson and Wallkill during our stay.

The property is charming and the owner (Robin) could not do enough to help us with our questions and booking enquires. In fact Robin kept us informed every step of the way, this was the first time we had used [vacation rentals] and was a little wary of parting with money over the internet, but she gave us sufficient confidence to proceed – and we were not disappointed.

We had the use of six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and kitchen, lounge and dining room – and there was even another bedroom available.

As Robin’s expertise is that of interior design, all of the rooms are decorated impeccably tastefully and in sympathy with the period of the town house.

I understand from Robin that this house is still a work-in-progress, and that explained the lack of mirrors in bedrooms, etc. She will only purchase furniture and accessories that fit with the period of the property.

The location is just a few minutes drive to the Staten Island Ferry (free!), and is ideal for daily trips to NYC and Brooklyn. The neighbourhood feels safe…even though there is a very large high school just opposite the property. The neighbours were very pleasant and overall it met our expectation. This property is not out in the country, but I understand Staten Island is one of the safest neighbourhoods in the State, we had no problems.

To get to and from the airport (Newark 15 miles), ferry and up-state, we hired two mini-vans, and there is sufficient off-street parking to accommodate more vehicles.

All the linen, towels, hair-dryers are provided and are of high quality. There is also Wi-Fi Internet access freely available. The kitchen is well equipped and easily coped with 11 of us rushing for breakfast. Beware there is a sensitive smoke-alarm…so don’t burn the bacon!

In conclusion would we stay here again? Yes we would!

A very quiet place after a "busy" day in Manhattan, a beautiful ferry ride from downtown, nearby the Statue of Liberty and a ten minutes walk from ferry terminal. And then ... a charmful house with accomadation of a high standard, lovely decorated and very clean. There is no hidden mistake. Every thing works and there is space enough for quiet moments with a large family or a circle of many friends. Possibility to use less rooms and to profit from a reduced price. Don't forget your large rucksack for food shopping in Manhattan.
And last but not least ... a very cordial housekeeper, discrete but attentive.
Merci beaucoup, mille fois ... and we hope to see you in France.

Accomodation of a high standard, designed with great flair, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Some magical views across to Manhatten. Full self catering is difficult with food shopping in the local area extremely limited (supermarket either a taxi or car journey away). Also important to understand that the housekeeping provided does not include cleaning. High quality restaurants also limited locally though extensively available on Manhatten. Immediate locality of property very mixed with some lovely properties and other areas which are very run down. Police station nearby but at times, particularly at night or when walking a little further from the property, we did not feel comfortable walking in the area. Walk to the ferry approximately 10 minutes downhill with a regular bus service available for the return uphill journey,Ferry link to Manhatten excellent and available day and night with beautiful views of Manhatten as approach.
