Our condo is located less than 1 mile from the all new Yacht Club of the Americas marina. Key West has a ton of charter trips available whether you like going out in the boat for sun and fun or your a serious sport fisherman looking to reel in the big one. Key West hosts several professional sport fishing tournaments year round, paying out thousands of dollars in prize money. Key West also has charter trips to Ft. Jefferson, the historic fort located 60 miles west of Key West also known as the 'Dry Tortugas'. It's a day long charter but well worth the trip to see something so magnificent built with over 6 million bricks dating back to the Spanish/American war.
Theater/Arts are alive and well in KW:
Whether your looking for a choir concert by our local 'Keys Kids' performers or a more sophisticated show of our wide variety of local talent, you won't be disappointed. Key West boasts a vast array of talent from seasonal shows like the 'Nutcracker' to visiting performers such as Celine Dion, Melissa Manchester, American Idol favorites, Opera stars and more. We have 6 local theaters where you can see a number of different plays that will entertain you and leave you begging for more. Our small island is filled with such a large variety of exceptionally talented residents that have come to Key West and decided to make it home. We are a very theater/arts oriented island.
Sports Enthusiasts:
If you love to Golf, Fish, Snorkel, Scuba dive, go boating, tennis, kayaking or just watch others doing some of these, Key West is your destination. We are located directly across the street from the only 18 hole championship golf course (Public). There are fishing tournaments with BIG prize money held year round hosted at several of our local marinas and sponsored by big commercial names. Charter trips are available whether you want to go fish for a week or weekend or if you just want to go for 1/2 day to a day. There are even charters that take you out to play with lots of fun water toys like, jet ski's, tubing, water skiing, kayaking and snorkeling. There's just no end to the fun that Key West offers when it comes to sports. The ocean is our play ground and we love it.
We offer 7 bikes that are included with the condo rental. We have a beautiful bike path across the street from our complex that will take you into Key West and all over the island. We provide a bike lock too.
Golf:
Located right next door to our condo and within walking or bike riding distance are two local favorite pubs that you definitely should check out. The Hog Fish bar/restaurant is one of the locals favorite pub/restaurant located on the water. It's 'old Key West' character and charm are quite evident from the tiki hut dining area to the open air bar that offers great drinks, live music in the evenings and seafood specialties that keep you coming back for more.
Another locals favorite that's a must to check out which is right down US1 ( 1 minute drive from the condo) is the 'Hurricane Hole Bar/Restaurant and Marina'. It has an upstairs sports bar, down stairs tiki bar and restaurant serving both bars with great food, local catch and cold drinks. The marina offers kayak rentals, jet ski rentals, boat rentals and charter trips too.
You can easily bike ride or take a stroll and enjoy the scenery along the way to either of these places from our condo. We highly recommend both of them.
There's no need to go down town to Duval when you have these two bars right next door to our condo. Our guests leave comments that repeatedly state they love these two places and seldom went anywhere else.
