Great family vacation

Our family of 8 had a great time for 12 days on Eleuthera while staying here. The evening sunsets, building a small fire on the rocks overlooking the sea at night to roast marshmallows created great memories. Leisure swims in the shallow water with sandy bottom close to the rocks provided great times to play and visit. The location at the end of the road was so quiet yet totally safe. Nice and clean, with tile floors. Not a millionaire's beach house so it is great for a family vacation, not worrying about tiptoeing around the house. Short walk 1/4 mile to the grocery store & local great home cooked restaurant, so made it easy to buy needed food and supplies. Not for those who want to be pampered. The water by the house is great to learn the skills of snorkeling. The beautiful ocean reefs close to shore are on the "Northside", with public access about 6 miles from the location. To enjoy the island to its fullest, you will need to rent a vehicle. A gotta see spot is Light House Beach, 30 miles to the south. Take a picnic and enjoy the clean sand and water and relive being stranded on an isolated gorgeous beach. Reefs are waist deep close to shore and you can swim out as far as you dare to find the fantastic display of coral and fish communities.Remember: never swim franticly away from a shark, don't drag speared fish in the water, and if a shark gets too friendly, swim aggressively towards it and it will swim away! Another spot to swim at is North Cabana : a beautiful 18 foot coral wall that follows the island for 1/4 mile, only 30 yards offshore.
If you come on the weekend of the first Monday in August, the town is alive with activity every evening with plenty of good food and culture.
