Beautiful secluded Cabin sitting high up in the towering oaks overlooking the cool Guadalupe River in historic Gruene Texas. Perfect size for family get-togethers and reunions. Highlights include a private deck overlooking the water; easy access to a floating pier not open to the public, which is great for fishing, sunbathing, or just the best people-watching around; river tubing, rafting. Excellent fishing waters with a fish cleaning table right on the banks of the property. A shopper's paradise, the historic town of Gruene supplies a seemingly endless choice of quaint, regional vendors to satisfy your shopping habit! Live entertainment, dining, and Hill Country night life are within walking distance. And if you're up for a short drive, San Antonio is just 20 minutes away and Austin is only 35 minutes away.

Easy access to major attractions such as Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels (5 min drive); Sea World San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, and the River Walk in San Antonio (20-30 min drives); and the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin (35 min drive). Within 1.1 miles walking (or rafting/tubing!) distance from Gruene Oaks Lodge, enjoy water activities, shopping, antiquing, dining, live music, dancing and Hill-Country-Style night life at Texas' oldest dance hall, Gruene Hall. With private access to the Guadalupe Riverfront, Gruene Oaks Lodge guests can float the river in rafts or inner tubes rented from any of the many local purveyors. Float for about an hour-and-a-half with this exclusive access, or enter the river further up-stream with the general public for a 4-8 hour float, depending on water flow levels.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Dates falling during Holidays and long weekends may require a minimum stay of 3 nights.
  • In some circumstances, an additional refundable CASH deposit may be required in advance. Remaining balance due 1 calendar month before first night of scheduled occupancy. After the remaining balance has been charged, it is non-refundable, unless the vacation rental is subsequently rented by another party. Primary lease signer and payer must be 25 years of age or older, verified by photo I.D. and be an occupant at rental property during entire lease period.
  • $200 non-refundable down payment due at lease signing (will be applied to total rental amount)
    10% discount for 4+ nights, 21-night max, Some special dates may require a 3-night minimum stay
    10% tax consists of: 6% Hotel Tax + 4% Local WORD Tax
    Flat discount of $50 if you choose to bring your own bed sheets and bath towels.

This experience is one my family and I will definately repeat. The house is clean and attractive. The owner provides excellent service. The property description was more than accurate. We had a great place to come back to after all our activities.
It is so covenient to all the local attractions and restaurants. We even went to Sea World. I would recommend this property to everyone except people with disabilities or very small children or babies because of the stairs and steep walkway to the river.

Our family of 5 had a great time staying in this cabin in Gruene. It was beautifully decorated and super clean. The front yard was fabulous and we all had fun in the kayaks. The owner was excellent to work with and readily available if needed. While the cabin is close to Gruene, it was quiet and the wildlife was abundant. Not sure we would make the trek to the town on foot unless we just wanted to get out and exercise! You could easily spend the whole time relaxing on this property or it is close enough to enjoy everything that New Braunfels and Gruene have to offer. Would definitely come back.

This cabin has it all. This is the place that everyone is looking
for and just haven't found. Its a paradise on the river with all the comforts of home and more! My wife and I have stayed in many nice rentals but this place is off the chart. My hat goes off to all that have worked so hard to provide such a beautiful place to stay. Thank You and we will return.
