This is a lovely, elegant and quiet apartment, totally renovated and with new appliances, in the heart of Florence. It is on Via Romana, 50 meters from the entrance to the Boboli Gardens, next door to the Pitti Palace. It consists of an entrance and living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a table for four, one bedroom and a study with a baby grand piano, two bathrooms and a closet room, central heating, telephone, washer, TV with VCR & DVD player, stereo, dishwasher, microwave and hi-speed internet. Florence needs no introduction. Suffice it to say that Unesco (the cultural branch of the United Nations) did a study 15 years ago which declared that 60% of the world's artistic heritage is on Italian soil. 30% of that is in Florence alone.

If you feel you need a jaunt in the countryside, please know that a 10-minute drive will see you surrounded by vineyards in the Chianti area with lots of wine-tasting possibilites. You can also easily make day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Arezzo and other Tuscan towns. Rome or Bologna are only a 100-minute train ride away. You might consider a stay in Umbria, the region just south of Tuscany, with jewels such as Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Spoleto and Orvieto to discover. A $500 deposit/holding fee is required when reserving the house. This sum is returned to you within 10 days of your departure minus the utilities (metered) and $100 clean up fee. The rental fee itself does not have to be sent until 3 months prior to your arrival.
