Playa Hermosa is a small resort village on one of the most beautiful beaches in Central America--a mile of curiving gray sand, mostly easy waves, warm water, surrounded by large hills extending out into the ocean. Mostly residential, Hermosa features a dozen charming restaurants (most on the beach or with fantastic views) and other small convenience and tourist shops. Nearby is Coco, a bustling, combination of tourist nightlife and local culture, only a ten minute drive or cab ride away. Area activities include zip lines (one within the resort itself!), all kinds of water activities, and day trips for surfing, volcano exploring, birdwatching, whitewater rafting, deep sea fishing, diving, ecotourism, shopping, or pretty much any other warm weather activity you would like. Hermosa is centrally located, and a wonderful base for exploring the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.

Relaxation in Paradise

I have stayed at this wonderful residence twice and its better and better each time. The residence is so convient to the airport that it is a breeze getting there which always makes the trip start off on the right foot. Once you arrive there, the house is an oasis with with most amazing views and its like a painting every evening when the sun goes down. With quick and easy access to the beach and pools and a very friendly resort staff, this truly cannot be beat! I cannot wait to return with friends and family as this house has enough room for all of us with its open floor plan and amazing porch, comfortable rooms - it really has it all.

Paradise

We recently returned from a marvelous, fun filled time at Villas Sol. The resort was beautiful and the location of our villa was perfect- a short distance from the pool, activities center and restaurants. It was about a five minute walk to a gorgeous beach, but if we did not want to walk, there was always a golf cart nearby. The villa was roomy and well equipped. I was mesmerized by the view from our extremely large balcony. It was totally breathtaking. I loved sitting out on the patio at anytime but especially in the evening watching the sunset. We ate some meals in the villa, tried the all-inclusive and sampled a number of wonderful restaurants in the area. In fact, there were more restaurants than we had days to go! At Villas Sol, we swam, snorkeled, kayaked, took a boat trip, played games, volleyball and sunbathed. The staff at the resort was fun and friendly. Beyond the villa, we went on a hanging bridges walk in a rain forest, a canopy (zip line) tour, and hiked in a volcanic park. There is still so much more we could have done, if only we had the time and the energy! Next Trip!!!!!!

Breathtaking views of the Pacific

I have stayed at this Villa a number of times and have enjoyed the ambiance and natural beauty of the location every time. The Villa is located within a gated community in the town of Playa Hermosa. You have access to two swimming pools, transportation to and from the beach. The villa has comfortable decor, a deck overlooking the mountains and Pacific Ocean, a beautiful well equipted kitchen, and 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 baths. The grounds at Villa Sol are gorgeous. Gardens and plantings give you a tropical paradise feeling. The beach, a walk down the hill, is beautiful. There are lovely restaurants on the property or you can venture a short distance to the town for a night out. You are not far from many Costa Rica attractions. I would highly recommend this property for a great vacation.
