Fully furnished, brand new home located a few steps from the pool, tennis courts, and community center on Chebeague Island. Directly across the street is a recreational field, and hiking trails through the woods. Very comfortable home with a beautiful new large kitchen, deck, large living room, two full baths, and three bedrooms designed for comfort and privacy. Laundry facilities and a well equipped kitchen make this home livable and perfect for relaxing. A extensive rolling lawn makes it perfect for children and recreation. If it gets chilly, we have heat. This home is an easy bicycle ride or quick vehicle ride to all of the island beaches, hotel, library, etc. Amenities include TV, DVD, music, books and games. There is free WiFi at the recreation center, school, and library (which has computers, books, and video rentals in a lovely building next to the general store and community hall).

Chebeague Island is a small island of the coast of Southern Maine To get there, you can take either the Casco Bay Lines ferry from Portland, Maine (the largest city in Maine) or the Chebeague Transportation Company Ferry from Cumberland (10 minutes north of Portland). Vehicles can be transported, but you don’t need one on the island. There is a taxi and free bicycle rental on the island, as well as a gorgeous hotel, golf course, restaurant, the “Clam Shack” (with the best onion rings anywhere), a museum, a general store, and on our road, a beautiful recreation center with a gym, pool, numerous activities, and a summer camp for children. Of course, there is a lobster pound with nearly unlimited reasonably priced lobster and clams for steaming. If you wish, day trips can be made to other islands in Casco Bay, or back to the mainland for cultural activities in Portland, LLBean and shopping in Freeport, and an exciting list of summer activities and dining.

Great time in Chebeague

We had a great time in Chebeague . The home is beautiful - very
comfortable - with all the amenities. We enjoyed croquet - badmitten,
grilling, the hammock - it was wonderful. Wish I was still there!

A Wonderful Space

Absolutely NO PROBLEMS--a wonderful space and the night of my
> birthday celebration we had a dinner for 12!!!!! with 3 coming from
> their weekend at the Inn (what a comfy place that was for them!!) and 2
> from Cousins and the house felt SPACIOUS!!!!

It is a wonderful set up
> with that open floor plan and the 2 porchs (the small one we used for
> kayak gear and shoes and the other for the deck chairs (we brought 4
> more deck chairs that we carry in our sea kayaks!!) and the hammock was
> always up for the day and put away for grill space at dinner time--that
> grill was GREAT.)
The owner did a very nice job with the house instruction
> stuff and on the rainiest of nights we had popcorn and watched The Sound of
> Music--what a classic!!

Wonderful Time

We stayed here in July 2009 and had a wonderful time at this cottage. I loved all of the memories of island life it brought back to me. If we can work it out, we would like to rebook again next year.
