Nostalgic for your childhood summers? Scenic Bass River is a quiet family neighborhood south of Route 28 in Yarmouth, cherished vacation spot for generations. Leisurely stroll, bike and jog. 1/2 block to Windmill Park on River for quick dips, sun, moon and star-gazing. 1 mile to warm, gentle Nantucket Sound beaches with lifeguards and concession stands. Come home to a hot outdoor shower and start your dinner on the gas or charcoal grill . Dine and relax in our delightful, large screened porch with full-sized swing, picnic table and rockers. Once settled in, you may not want to leave. But if you venture into the side yard, you can lounge, picnic, or play croquet. A six-foot hedge encloses the yard from the street. At night the nieighborhood quiets down, as families finish supper and go for an evening stroll. Or, if they prefer, go out to one of the many restaurants, ice cream parlors, or mini golf or other entertainment centers mere minutes away

Bass River is on the National Register of Historic Homes with flat, tree-lined streets south of Route 28, along the warm calm waters of Nantucket Sound. There are many nearby fresh-water ponds, as well. The neighborhood is a five-mile drive to Hyannis, business and transportation center of the Cape with bus, airport, and ferry terminals; malls, movies, restaurants and the famous Cape Cod Melody Tent. Yarmouth is conveniently located in the middle of Cape Cod, making possible day excursions in either direction from Sandwich to Provincetown.

Trash shed is enclosed and pickups are weekly. Owners personally greet guests upon arrival and supervise cleaning between rentals to ensure readiness for incoming guests. There is a 24/7 on-call property manager for emergencies and owners reside nearby during rental season. There is room for four cars in the driveway.

The Winslow house was a wonderful spot for our 2009 family vacation. There are more than enough bed rooms for our big group. The large dining room table and beautiful screened in porch were the centers of activity for evening meals and card games. The proximity to the river via the Windmill for kayaking and fishing was a great bonus not to mention the delicious bakery at the other end of the street. Being able to walk or bike to Bass River / Smugglers beach also saved a weekly $70 parking pass...we abousutely loved our stay!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
