A beautiful half-acre private retreat on Asilomar, nestled between the forest and the beach. Just remodeled, with all new designer furnishings and wood floors throughout. The house has 2 bedrooms (one with queen bed; one with two twins) and a queen sized sofa bed in the living room. The 2 hand-carved stone bathrooms are sheer luxury. French doors open up to 3 patios. The living room has a fireplace, flat screen TV, and a magnificent view of the park like backyard and sand dunes beyond. Dining room and fully-stocked kitchen. Say hi to the deer as you walk the backyard path to the beach...abundant with tide pools, seals and otters. Stroll, run or bike along the nature trail -- we have 4 bikes for your use. Have a BBQ as you watch the sunset. Championship golf, whale-watching, hiking, wine tasting, shopping, dining, surfing, first class spas, breathtaking nature...its all here waiting for you. Come make yourself at home - you're going to love it.

Lovely house

Great place. The house is beautiful inside, with a very spacious living room and two good bedrooms, as well as recently refurbished bathrooms. The boys particularly enjoyed the stock of DVDs. The situation is quiet and seasidey, and the garden is large with plenty of places to sit out. There were bikes (elderly but working) in the garage which made it easy to get to Monterey and to the aquarium (it took us, a family of four, about fifteen minutes downhill; a little longer on the way home). The owners were exceptionally helpful and responsive. The only downside was the fog which tended to hang over the coast while we were there, but no-one can be blamed for that! I'd happily recommend it to a friend, and the description is entirely accurate. It's a great way to enjoy all that's on offer in Monterey from a slightly less urban surrounding.

Great time in Asilomar

We stayed 3 nights at this lovely home. It was a fantastic experience for all of us. Our young children loved romping around in and exploring the expansive varied yard. We loved the quiet location close to the beach. The owners were wonderful to deal with, the house was lovely and we appreciated the wifi, free long distance calling and the comfortable layout of the house. We will stay here again. Highly recommended!

Great for Families

We just came back from three nights in this house and just loved it! It was great for our family of 4... and I highly recommend it for families. I don't think they mention that the entire property is well fenced so its great for the kids to play outside. The house is also all one level - so no stairs for our little one to navigate. We took some outlet covers and cupboard locks and the house was pretty much childproofed.

We'll definately be back!

We stayed the first week of August,2008 and had an amazing time. The location was a stone throw away from the beach and yet secluded enough to be an excellent hideaway. The house is VERY CLEAN and IMMACULATE. Moreover, the owners are incredibly accommodating. I would recommend anyone looking for a beautiful home in a great location to check out this place. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

We just returned from spending 6 delightful nights in this lovely home. The location (just blocks from the ocean)is great, and the home is warm, comfortable and charming. Love the flat screen TV, the beautiful wood floors and the elegant tiled bathrooms. We can't wait to go back! Tom & Libby Smith
